To address widespread deficiencies in the quality of health care, the authors argue that health care organizations need to be able to make a "business case" for improving quality--a compelling rationale for financial investment in quality improvement programs. The authors' framework for such a business case is organized around three broad areas: direct financial considerations, strategic considerations, and internal organizational considerations. Within these categories, they offer a total of 10 specific business case arguments, with examples, for investing in quality improvement.

China's island tourism is still in the exploratory stage, and the carbon emissions due to island tourism development are still prominent. This study assesses the development of low-carbon tourism on Changdao Island in China. We constructed an evaluation model for low-carbon tourism on islands based on the driver-pressure-state-impact-response model, and the Entropy Weight Method-Analytical Hierarchy Process Method was combined with the weighting method to determine the index weights of ench evaluation-indicator.

A qualitative analysis of the communication process of subway teams was performed from the perspective of cognitive psychology in this study. The findings revealed that the communication process exhibited characteristics consistent with a Markov process, and then a model was approved to calculate the probability of miscommunication based on Markov processes. As communication within subway teams is a two-way process, a model for the dynamic probability of miscommunication based on the Markov two-way communication mode was derived.

Purpose: We aim to understand the link between field-level institutional logics and practice-level social interactions and relationships between public and private actors and their influences on the responses and resolutions to the issues causing tensions.
Design/methodology/approach: Adopting a multiple logics perspective with a focus on social interactions and relationships between public and private actors, we conducted a multiple case study in five city hospitals recently established under a public-private partnership model in the Turkish healthcare field.
Findings: We found that the state and market logics that predominantly characterize the Turkish healthcare field were enacted in each of the five hospitals in different manners and constitute three different configurations as compatible, complementary and contradictory.
