Background: Adherence to antiretroviral therapy is a critical component in achieving viral suppression in people living with HIV in addition to increasing overall quality of life. Several indirect methods have been used to measure adherence including the Simplified Medication Adherence Questionnaire (SMAQ).
Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the reliability and validity of the SMAQ in men living with HIV/AIDS attending a Mexican national hospital.

Background: The correlation between serum cotinine and fatty liver index (FLI) needs further investigation for the early identification, prevention, and treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
Methods: Data from the NHANES database spanning from March 2017 to 2018 was used to perform the population-based study to assess the relationship between serum cotinine and FLI. A variance estimation strategy was applied to address the data volatility.

The American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association introduced the Predicting Risk of Cardiovascular EVENTs (PREVENT™) algorithm to estimate the 10-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease. We aimed to assess the cardiovascular risk (CVR) reclassification among rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients using traditional CVR algorithms-the 2024 PREVENT™ and the 2013 Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD)-and the presence of carotid plaque (CP). This was a cross-sectional study nested of a RA patients' cohort.
