Introduction: The primary analysis (median follow-up 34.9 mo across all arms) of the phase 3 POSEIDON study revealed a statistically significant overall survival (OS) improvement with first-line tremelimumab plus durvalumab and chemotherapy (T+D+CT) versus CT in patients with EGFR and ALK wild-type metastatic NSCLC (mNSCLC). D+CT had a trend for OS improvement versus CT that did not reach statistical significance.

Structural dependence of PFAS oxidation in a boron doped diamond-electrochemical system.

Driven by long-term persistence and adverse health impacts of legacy perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), production has shifted towards shorter chain analogs (C4, perfluorobutanoic acid (PFBA)) or fluorinated alternatives such as hexafluoropropylene oxide dimer acid (HFPO-DA, known as GenX) and 6:2 fluorotelomer carboxylic acid (6:2 FTCA). Yet, a thorough understanding of treatment processes for these alternatives is limited. Herein, we conducted a comprehensive study using an electrochemical approach with a boron doped diamond anode in NaSO electrolyte for the remediation of PFOA common alternatives, i.

Using first-principles calculations, we predicted three novel superhard semiconducting structures of CBN with a space group of 31. We investigated their mechanical properties and electronic structures up to 100 GPa. These three structures were successfully derived by substituting carbon (C) atoms with isoelectronic boron (B) and nitrogen (N) atoms in the 31 phase, which is the most stable structure of BCN and exhibits exceptional mechanical properties.

A DPD model of soft spheres with waterlike anomalies and poly(a)morphism.

Soft Matter

October 2023

Departamento de Física, Instituto de Física e Matemática, Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Caixa Postal 354, CEP 96001-970, Pelotas, RS, Brazil.

Core-softened approaches have been employed to understand the behavior of a large variety of systems in soft condensed matter, from biological molecules to colloidal crystals, glassy phases, and water-like anomalies. At the same time, dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) is a powerful tool suitable for studying larger length and time scales. In this sense, we propose a simple model of soft molecules that exhibits a wide range of interesting phenomena: polyamorphism, with three amorphous phases, polymorphysm, including a recently found gyroid phase and a cubic diamond structure, reentrant liquid phase, and density, diffusion, and structural water-like anomalies.

Objectives: To compare an ormocer with a first generation ormocer-based composite and a nanocomposite in terms of surface roughness, surface hardness, and microleakage.

Materials And Methods: An ormocer (Admira Fusion), a first generation ormocer-based composite (Admira) and a nanocomposite (Filtek Z350 XT) were prepared strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction and recommendation to provide optimal material properties. Twelve disk samples of each material were evaluated to assess both surface roughness and surface hardness.
