Objective: To observe the effect of Shenqi Recipe on the proliferation of glomerular mesangial cells (MC) and interstitial fibroblasts (FC) in rats.
Methods: The effect of serum containing prepared drugs from normal and chronic renal failure rats treated by Shenqi Recipe on glomerular mesangial cells and intersititial fibroblasts in vitro was observed by MTT colorimetric assay and serophrmacology.
Results: Compared with the blank sample normal rats, serum containing Shenqi Recipe inhibited the proliferation of MC and FC (P<0.001), and the serum containing Shenqi Recipe of CRF rats had significantly inhibited the proliferation of MC and FC compared with the model group(P<0.001). Conclusion Shenqi Recipe can postpone CRF progress by this mechanism.

Background: Traditional Chinese herbal medicine draws more attention to explore an effective therapeutic strategy for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Shenqi Yizhi granule (SQYG), a Chinese herbal recipe, has been applied to ameliorate cognitive impairment in mild-to-moderate AD patients. However, the overall molecular mechanism of SQYG in treating AD has not been clarified.

Objective: ShenQi compound (SQC) is a traditional herbal formula, which has been used to treat Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and complications for years. The aim of this study was to explore the preventive and protective effects of SQC recipe on the skeletal muscle of diabetic macrovasculopathy mice, which provides a theoretical basis for the clinical use of this formula.
Methods: We evaluated the effect of SQC in a diabetic vasculopathy mouse model by detecting a series of blood indicators (blood glucose, lipids and insulin) and performing histological observations.

Objective: To study the effects of Chinese medical recipes for invigorating Shen on rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs)-derived preadipocytes' differentiation to osteoblasts.
Methods: The BMSCs were cultured using whole bone marrow adherence wall method. The BMSCs were induced to preadipocytes by classic chemical method.
Objective: To investigate the effect and hemostatic mechanism of Shenqi Guchong Recipe (SGR) in treating peri-menopausal anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding (ADUB) of qi deficiency blood stasis syndrome type (QDBS).
Methods: Patients of ADUB-QDBS were assigned to two groups, the 47 patients in the treated group administering orally with SGR and the 31 in the control group treated with Kunning Oral Liquid. The hemostatic effect, and the changes before and after treatment of 6-ketoprostaglandin 1alpha (6-K-PGF1 alpha), thromboxane B2(TXB2), T-lymphocyte subsets (CD3 and CD8, CD4/CD8 ratio) in menstrual blood, and serum calcium level in patients were observed.
