Transport properties of pure carbon dioxide have been calculated from the intermolecular potential using the classical trajectory method. Results are reported in the dilute-gas limit for volume viscosity, depolarized Rayleigh scattering, and nuclear spin relaxation for temperatures ranging from 200 to 1000 K. Three recent carbon dioxide potential energy hypersurfaces have been investigated. Calculated values for the rotational collision number for all three intermolecular surfaces are consistent with the measurements and indicate that the temperature dependence of the Brau-Jonkman correlation is not applicable for carbon dioxide. The results for the depolarized Rayleigh scattering cross section and the nuclear spin relaxation cross section show that calculated values for the generally more successful potentials differ from the observations by 9% at about 290 K, although agreement is obtained for nuclear spin relaxation at about 400 K.

Focus of this study is on the use of the hydrazone compound (3) (N-(4-bromobenzylidene)-4-(1H-indol-3-yl) butane hydrazide), which was previously prepared from the reaction of the compound p-bromobenzaldehyde with the corresponding hydrazide (2), as an intermediate compound for the synthesis of azetidine, thiazolidine, tetrazole, oxadiazole and phthalazine heterocyclic compounds through its reaction with some cyclic reagents and catalysts such as chloro acetyl chloride, thioglycolic acid, sodium-azid, lead dioxide and Hydrogen chloride gas. The prepared compounds were characterized using physical properties and also spectroscopic methods such as infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of the proton and the isotope of carbon as well as mass spectrometry, which accurately identified the proposed structures of the prepared compounds. The identity of the prepared compounds was determined using physical and spectroscopic properties, where infrared and HNMR spectroscopy of the proton as well as carbon were used in addition to using mass spectrometry to verify the validity of the prepared structures.

The present study exami-ned bacteria that anaerobically degrade the aromatic compound, benzoate, and obtained enrichment cultures from marine sediments under illumination. The enrichment culture contained anoxygenic photosynthetic bacteria and non-photosynthetic bacteria. The photosynthetic strain PS1, a purple sulfur bacterium in the genus Marichromatium, was unable to utilize benzoate; however, when combined with the non-photosynthetic bacterial isolate, Marinobacterium sp.

Objective: This systematic review aimed to analyze, in neonates, the effects of high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) with volume-targeted (VT) compared with conventional HFOV.
Sources: The authors searched PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and ClinicalTrials.gov from inception until August 4th, 2024, to identify studies comparing HFOV with and without VT in neonates under 44 weeks corrected age.

Biopolymer-based polymer compounds mainly protein and polysaccharide are commonly used in biodegradable packaging. Gelatin, cellulose, starch, chitosan, pectin, and alginate are widely used for producing biodegradable packaging films because of their nontoxicity and safety. However, some drawbacks need to be solved before employing them in food packaging, such as inappropriate wettability, low barrier properties, low mechanical properties and high moisture sensitivity.

Despite decades of emission control measures aimed at improving air quality, Los Angeles (LA) continues to experience severe ozone pollution during the summertime. We incorporate cooking volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions in a chemical transport model and evaluate it against observations in order to improve the model representation of the present-day ozone chemical regime in LA. Using this updated model, we investigate the impact of adopting zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) on ozone pollution with increased confidence.
