Cephalometric analysis has a key role in orthodontic clinical practice and research. The skills needed to accurately trace radiographs can be acquired only through practice. We developed an interactive, Internet-based system to help students hone their cephalometric tracing skills. The online system allows students to practice any time and at their own pace, and receive immediate graphical feedback on the quality of their work. It also allows instructors to update the collection of cases available to students for practice.

Objective: To determine the effect of the nose and chin on the cephalometric lip profile.

Methods And Material: The pre-treatment lateral cephalograms of 177 adult patients with no history of orthodontic treatment were manually traced. The sample size was divided into three vertical and horizontal groups using angle ANB and MMA to assess the difference in nose and chin forms.

This study assessed the accuracy and reliability of artificial intelligence (AI)-reconstructed images of two-dimensional (2D) lateral cephalometric analyses of facial computed tomography (CT) images, which is widely used for the diagnosis of craniofacial deformities and in the planning of their treatment. Facial CT datasets from 40 patients were collected. Original 1 mm slices were reformatted to 3 mm, and then an AI algorithm reconstructed the 3 mm slices and converted them back to 1 mm to generate lateral cephalometric images.

Background Cephalometric analysis is essential in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. With the emergence of digital tools for cephalometric analysis such as OneCeph, WebCeph, and NemoCeph, there is growing interest in their reliability compared to traditional manual tracings. This study aimed to compare the reliability of these digital tools with manual tracings in doing cephalometric analysis.

Objectives: To compare 3D cephalometric analysis performed using AI with that conducted manually by a specialist orthodontist.

Methods: The CBCT scans (a field of view of 15 × 15 cm) used in the study were obtained from 30 consecutive patients, aged 18 to 50. The 3D cephalometric analysis was conducted using two methods.

Objectives: Aberrant facial growth in individuals affected by orofacial clefts can result in maxillary retrusion and class III malocclusion, with a proportion requiring surgical correction at cessation of growth. This study aimed to evaluate occlusal and cephalometric outcomes of combined orthodontic-orthognathic treatment.

Material And Methods: Retrospective cohort study in a United Kingdom cleft center.
