Introduction: Metabolic-Associated Steatohepatitis-Related Liver Disease (MASLD) and, its progressive form, Metabolic-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) pose significant global health challenges. Current therapeutic strategies targeting metabolic abnormalities have shown promise but lack specificity for the liver. Thyroid hormones, particularly thyroid hormone receptor beta (THR-β) agonists like resmetirom, offer a targeted approach to liver-related pathways.

Background: Benign and malignant breast tumors differ in their microvasculature morphology and distribution. Histologic biomarkers of malignant breast tumors are also correlated with the microvasculature. There is a lack of imaging technology for evaluating the microvasculature.

Discoidin Domain Receptor 1 (DDR1) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that binds to and is activated by collagen(s), including collagen type I. deletion in osteoblasts and chondrocytes has previously demonstrated the importance of this receptor in bone development. In this study, we examined the effect of DDR1 ablation on bone architecture and mechanics as a function of aging.

Purpose: We demonstrate a novel approach for the definitive treatment of Lisch epithelial corneal dystrophy via an unintentionally staged alcohol keratectomy and intentionally targeted minor limbal excision with cautery.
Methods: A 46-year-old woman presented with visually significant corneal changes, suspected to be Lisch epithelial corneal dystrophy after clinical examination, anterior segment optical coherence tomography, and confocal microscopy. Alcohol keratectomy was performed with complete resolution, but there was visually significant recurrence at 2 years.

Background And Aim: Ex vivo fluorescence confocal microscopy (FCM) systems are innovative optical imaging tools that create virtual high-resolution histological images without any standard tissue processing, either freezing or fixing in formalin and embedding in paraffin. These systems have opened an era that would revolutionize pathological examination by providing rapid, real-time assessments across various pathology subspecialties, potentially replacing conventional methods that are tissue- and time-consuming. This study aimed to present the first utilization of FCM in pediatric surgical oncology, focusing on assessing the benefits, particularly in facilitating rapid and accurate diagnosis.
