We describe a case of spontaneous intracranial hypotension secondary to a CSF-venous fistula that was treated with transvenous embolization. We present the imaging findings from a brain MRI before and after embolization demonstrating changes in the patient's mamillopontine distance. Decreased mamillopontine distance is a marker of spontaneous intracranial hypotension and a minor criterion in the Bern Score.

Objective: Surveillance is critical for the rapid implementation of control measures for diseases caused by aerially dispersed plant pathogens, but such programs can be resource-intensive, especially for epidemics caused by long-distance dispersed pathogens. The current cucurbit downy mildew platform for monitoring, predicting and communicating the risk of disease spread in the United States is expensive to maintain. In this study, we focused on identifying sites critical for surveillance and treatment in an attempt to reduce disease monitoring costs and determine where control may be applied to mitigate the risk of disease spread.

Rudrasagar Lake, a vital habitat for diverse flora and fauna, supports over 2000 households to sustain their daily livelihoods. The current study attempts to examine the impact of human activities on spatio-temporal variation in the water quality of the study area. The study integrates extensive field surveys, sample processing, and statistical analysis to assess the recent status of wetland health.

Exploring the ultrafast and isomer-dependent photodissociation of iodothiophenes site-selective ionization.

C-I bond extension and fission following ultraviolet (UV, 262 nm) photoexcitation of 2- and 3-iodothiophene is studied using ultrafast time-resolved extreme ultraviolet (XUV) ionization in conjunction with velocity map ion imaging. The photoexcited molecules and eventual I atom products are probed by site-selective ionization at the I 4d edge using intense XUV pulses, which induce multiple charges initially localized to the iodine atom. At C-I separations below the critical distance for charge transfer (CT), charge can redistribute around the molecule leading to Coulomb explosion and charged fragments with high kinetic energy.

High-intensity femtosecond pulses from an X-ray free-electron laser enable pump-probe experiments for the investigation of electronic and nuclear changes during light-induced reactions. On timescales ranging from femtoseconds to milliseconds and for a variety of biological systems, time-resolved serial femtosecond crystallography (TR-SFX) has provided detailed structural data for light-induced isomerization, breakage or formation of chemical bonds and electron transfer. However, all ultrafast TR-SFX studies to date have employed such high pump laser energies that nominally several photons were absorbed per chromophore.
