We encountered a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), with adrenal gland metastasis, in whom splenic metastasis was diagnosed histopathologically. A 59-year-old man visited our hospital in May 2001 with chief complaints of abdominal distension and pretibial pitting edema. Multiple HCCs associated with HCV-positive liver cirrhosis were detected. Transarterial embolization (TAE) was performed a total of 4 times for HCCs. A left adrenal gland metastatic lesion was detected and it was found to increase in diameter from 3 cm to 6 cm over a four-month period; left adrenalectomy was performed in June 2002. Because of marked splenomegaly and findings of hypersplenism, the spleen was also resected. Although no metastatic lesions were evident on macroscopic examination of the spleen, a small metastatic lesion from moderately differentiated HCC, approximately 0.5 mm in diameter, was detected histopathologically. Splenic metastasis from HCC is rare, usually occurring with metastases involving other organs. Our patient also had adrenal gland metastasis. Therefore, hematogenous metastasis to the congested spleen via the systemic circulation was suspected.

In this article, we aim to demonstrate that thyroid carcinoma can metastasize to the small bowel. This case report involves a 66-year-old woman who underwent total thyroidectomy surgery in 2019, with histopathology revealing a 3A undifferentiated thyroid cancer. She presented with symptoms of bowel obstruction, including abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Background And Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the correlation between Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) levels and Fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) metabolic parameters, including spleen and bone marrow FDG uptake and tumor heterogeneity in non-luminal breast cancers (NLBC), and to elucidate their association with survival outcomes.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 100 females with stage 2-4 NLBC who underwent pretreatment F-FDG Positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT). TIL was scored based on Hematoxylin-Eosin-stained specimens and F-FDG PET metabolic parameters, including maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), mean standardized uptake value (SUVmean), metabolic tumor volume (MTV), total lesion glycolysis (TLG), liver, spleen, and bone marrow FDG uptake were calculated.

Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) is a key mediator in antitumor immunity and immunotherapy responses, yet its clinical application remains restricted to chronic granulomatous disease and malignant osteopetrosis. IFN-γ effectiveness as a standalone treatment has shown limited success in clinical trials and its potential for synergistic effects when combined with immunotherapies is under clinical exploration. A particularly compelling combination is that of IFN-γ with Toll-like receptor (TLR) agonists that holds significant promise for cancer treatment.

Background: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a malignant tumor with high morbidity and mortality, and easy to develop resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. Telomeres are DNA-protein complexes located at the termini of chromosomes in eukaryotic cells, which are unreplaceable in maintaining the stability and integrity of genome. Telomerase, an RNA-dependent DNA polymerase, play vital role in telomere length maintain, targeting telomerase is a promising therapeutic strategy for cancer.

Background: Tumor deposits (TDs) can impact proper staging of cancer, which is crucial for discussing prognosis and determining the appropriate treatment plan. Our study aimed to correlate how TDs influence prognosis of resected colorectal cancer (CRC) and how to optimize tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging with respect to TDs for clinical decision-making.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 611 patients with CRC treated in Jiangsu Cancer Hospital from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2020 among whom 197 had TDs.
