The present study investigated the properties of galactomannan, a water-soluble polysaccharide extracted from the Prosopis farcta (Çeti) plant. These properties encompassed its functional characteristics, chemical composition, rheological behavior, and morphological structure. The results were systematically compared with those of the commercially utilized locust bean gum (LBG).

A low-temperature-tolerant and non-flammable cellulose/HEC/PVA eutectogel for flexible asymmetric supercapacitors.

Asymmetric supercapacitors (ASCs), which combine the advantages of electric double-layer capacitors and pseudocapacitors, have attracted more and more research interest. However, the performance of water-based ASCs often faces the challenge of electrolyte freezing at low temperatures. To resolve the problem, a ternary deep eutectic solvent (DES) with an eutectic point of less than -100 °C was first prepared.

Asymmetric Structural MXene/PBO Aerogels for High-Performance Electromagnetic Interference Shielding with Ultra-Low Reflection.

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials with low electromagnetic (EM) waves reflection characteristics are ideal materials for blocking EM radiation and pollution. Materials with low reflectivity must be constructed using materials with excellent EM waves absorption properties. However, materials simultaneously possessing both low reflectivity and excellent EMI shielding performance remain scarce, consequently, multilayer structures need to be developed.

Effect of the flow-force relationships used in two parameter modelling of freezing and vitrification protocols for bovine embryos.

Cells may become damaged by strong volume changes and related intracellular changes during slow freezing or vitrification. These osmotic events can be modelled mathematically, using descriptions of transmembrane flow of solute and water. We compared different variants of an often used 2-parameter (2P) formalism in fitting of an empirical shrink-swell curve of a bovine embryo in 5 vol% glycerol, and in simulations of CPA loading and removal in a vitrification protocol.

Background: Asymmetrical expansion of transcatheter heart valves (THVs), manifesting as stent frame deformation, is an occasional fluoroscopic finding in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of asymmetrical expansion of balloon-expandable THVs on hemodynamic valve performance and clinical outcomes.

Methods: In a prospective registry, TAVR asymmetry index was measured using freeze-frame fluoroscopic images and was defined as the ratio of THV heights: [(longer height/shorter height) - 1] × 100.
