Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is a validated noninvasive method for evaluation of possible malignant tumor and lymph nodes of the head and neck. From its roots as a budding research application, it has made the critical transition to a widespread clinical tool. MRS analyzes the tissue at a molecular level and searches for the presence of specific metabolites, which are markers for malignancy. Differentiation of benign from malignant neoplasm, detection of recurrence of malignant tumor and noninvasive treatment monitoring of treated or untreated tumor are some of the important utilities of MRS. One dimensional 1H-MRS is the most popular and promising technique for spectroscopic analysis while P-31 MRA and two-dimensional correlated spectroscopy (2D COSY) have also showed some promise. This article describes the application of magnetic resonance spectroscopy for evaluation of malignant tumors of the neck.

Cine-magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been used to track respiratory-induced motion of the liver and tumor and assist in the accurate delineation of tumor volume. Recent developments in compressed sensitivity encoding (SENSE; CS) have accelerated temporal resolution while maintaining contrast resolution. This study aimed to develop and assess hepatobiliary phase (HBP) cine-MRI scans using CS.

Many lipid biomarkers of stroke have been identified, but the lipid metabolism in elderly patients with leukoaraiosis remains poorly understood. This study aims to explore lipid metabolic processes in stroke among leukoaraiosis patients, which could provide valuable insights for guiding future antithrombotic therapy. In a cohort of 215 individuals undergoing MRI, 13 stroke patients were matched with controls, and 48 stroke patients with leukoaraiosis were matched with 40 leukoaraiosis patients.

This study aimed to investigate the correlation between baseline MRI features and baseline carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) expression status in rectal cancer patients. A training cohort of 168 rectal cancer patients from Center 1 and an external validation cohort of 75 rectal cancer patients from Center 2 were collected. A nomogram was constructed based on the training cohort and validated using the external validation cohort to predict high baseline CEA expression in rectal cancer patients.

Purpose: We aimed to present our surgical experience and the impact of a solid or cystic morphology of cerebellar pilocytic astrocytoma (cPA) on surgery and the risk for a re-resection.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed all children operated at our institution between 2009 and 2023 for cPA. Tumours were categorized into 4 groups: (i) cystic PA without cyst wall enhancement, (ii) cystic PA with cyst wall enhancement, (iii) solid tumour, (iv) and solid tumour with central necrosis.

This study aimed to identify imaging risk factors for spinal cord injury without radiologic abnormalities (SCIWORA) in children. We retrospectively analyzed the medical records and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of children with SCIWORA admitted to our hospital between January 1, 2012, and September 30, 2022. Univariate and binary logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the prognostic impact of various factors including MRI type, maximum cross-sectional area of spinal cord injury, injury length, injury signal intensity ratio.
