Kinetic equations describing homogeneous nucleation kinetics within standard model are solved numerically under the condition of a constant number of molecules in the considered system. It has consequences to decrease the supersaturation of the supersaturated vapor during the process of the formation of small droplets of a new phase. The decrease of supersaturation occurs in a short time and reaches some value which remains unchanged for a relatively long time (quasistationary regime), especially at lower initial supersaturations. This time interval decreases with increasing value of the initial supersaturation. In the quasistationary regime the nucleation rate reaches its stationary value. At higher initial supersaturation, the rate of formation of nuclei goes to some maximum value corresponding to the stationary nucleation rate and then decreases with time due to the decrease of supersaturation.

Cellulose nanosphere (CNS), reported as a novel cellulose material, has encountered significant challenges in achieving efficient and size-controllable preparation, which has considerably constrained its development. In this study, we have developed an innovative and size-controllable method that synthesizes CNS within only 7 min. A detailed investigation into the morphology, chemical structure, and crystalline structure of CNS was conducted, leading to the proposal of a formation mechanism for CNS.

Neomycin nanoparticles were prepared using the inductive crystallization method in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a stabilizer. Given the favorable solubility of neomycin in water, distilled water was used as the solvent. In addition, acetone was utilized as the antisolvent due to its high polarity and good solubility in water.

Karst reservoirs can significantly enhance the effect of biological carbon pump (BCP), a crucial process for carbon sequestration, water purification, and eutrophication mitigation. However, the effects of BCP on the fate of carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorus (P) and its role in regulating eutrophication within river-reservoir systems, remains insufficiently understood, particularly across different geological settings. We investigated the Hongfeng Reservoir (HFR), a typical karst reservoir, analyzing water chemistry, nutrient concentrations, and stable isotopes of dissolved inorganic carbon (δC) and nitrate (δN-NO) to uncover the underlying mechanisms governing the migration of biogenic elements and the process of eutrophication.

Ubiquitous quartz veins within the crust underscore the contribution of silica precipitation to fault sealing and fluid-pressure changes during earthquake cycles. However, quantifying silica precipitation, fluid pressure fluctuations, and earthquake rupture remains challenging. Here, we present the results of hydrothermal flow-through experiments with constant flow rates that show silica precipitation reduces permeability and induces fluid-pressure oscillations in the flow of highly supersaturated fluid.
