Introduction: Determinating the prognosis of patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a challenge. Since up to 30% of patients who have undergone surgical resection experience recurrence, generally in distant organs, it is reasonable to postulate that neo-adjuvant or adjuvant treatments might be useful. Better knowledge of prognostic factors could perhaps define which patient populations should be targeted with such treatments.
State Of The Art: Numerous potential prognostic factors, relating to the disease (TNM classification, histology, tumor size, blood vessels invasion, micro-metastasis, serum or molecular markers), the patient (gender, age, co-morbidity) as well as the treatment (delay, resection, lymph node dissection, neo-adjuvant and adjuvant treatments), are discussed.
Perspectives: These prognostic factors should be integrated into the design of future clinical trials of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy attempting to evaluate the effectiveness of various combinations of neo-adjuvant or adjuvant therapies.
Conclusions: These factors may offer the opportunity to clinically and biologically characterize the different subgroups of patients, leading to a more rational, and perhaps individualized, choice of therapy.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and biliary tract cancers (BTC) pose significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and multiphase computed tomography (CT) have been the preferred imaging modalities for diagnosis, staging, and surveillance of patients with these malignancies. Objective: This study aims to assess the long-term safety and efficacy of adding pazopanib to neo-adjuvant radiotherapy followed by surgery in patients with high-risk non-metastatic soft tissue sarcoma of the trunk and extremities treated in the PASART-1 and PASART-2 trials, as well as to compare the PASART cohorts to a control cohort receiving standard treatment during the same time period from the Netherlands Cancer Registry (IKNL) to investigate if adding pazopanib improves Overall Survival (OS).
Methods: Updated follow-up data on disease control, survival and long-term toxicities of the PASART-trials were extracted from electronic patient records. The effect of adding pazopanib to neo-adjuvant radiotherapy on OS was investigated by comparing the combined PASART cohorts to the IKNL cohort via direct comparison and exact matching analysis.

Preventive interventions are expected to substantially improve the prognosis of patients with primary liver cancer, predominantly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cholangiocarcinoma. HCC prevention is challenging in the face of the evolving etiological landscape, particularly the sharp increase in obesity-associated metabolic disorders, including metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Next-generation anti-HCV and HBV drugs have substantially reduced, but not eliminated, the risk of HCC and have given way to new challenges in identifying at-risk patients.
