Neurokinin B levels were measured between the 10th-20th weeks of pregnancy, i.e., prior to the development of clinical symptoms, in women who developed preeclampsia or delivered a growth-restricted baby. No difference was found in plasma neurokinin B levels, although neurokinin B levels increased slightly towards term.

Substance P (SP) expressed by corneal nerves, is an 11-amino acid long neuropeptide from the tachykinin family, encoded by the Tac1 gene, and binds to neurokinin receptors. SP overexpression is associated with various pathological responses in the cornea including vasodilation, pain, inflammation, and angiogenesis in the normally avascular tissue. This study investigates the role of neurokinin-1 receptor (NK-1R) mediated signaling in nociception, nerve regeneration, and neuronal activation following mechanical corneal injury in mice.

Background: NK-1 receptor antagonists (NK-1RAs) are proven to be successful in preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). The safety profile of NK-1RAs has not been systematically analyzed in the real world. This pharmacovigilance study investigated the differences in adverse events (AEs) between NK-1RAs.

Background: Elinzanetant is a dual neurokinin-1,3 receptor antagonist in development for the treatment of menopausal vasomotor symptoms. The objectives of these studies were to characterize the mass balance and biotransformation of elinzanetant.
Methods: In the clinical evaluation, whole blood, plasma, urine, and feces were collected from healthy fasted male volunteers (n = 6) following a single dose of 120 mg [C]-elinzanetant oral suspension for analysis of total radioactivity and metabolite profiling.

Hypothalamic kisspeptin (Kiss1) neurons are vital for pubertal development and reproduction. Arcuate nucleus Kiss1 (Kiss1) neurons are responsible for the pulsatile release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). In females, the behavior of Kiss1 neurons, expressing Kiss1, neurokinin B (NKB), and dynorphin (Dyn), varies throughout the ovarian cycle.

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) pose a global challenge to environmental and human health. Although toxic and carcinogenic at higher exposure levels, at lower concentrations they can act as endocrine-disrupting chemicals. Individuals are more vulnerable to endocrine-disrupting effects of PCB exposures during the perinatal period, when the neuroendocrine system is developing, although assessing the full impact of PCB exposure is difficult because of the often-latent onset of adverse effects.
