Unlabelled: The Genome Organization Analysis Tool (GOAT) is a program that performs comparative sequence analysis on ordered gene lists from annotated genomes, provides visual and tabular output, and provides means of accessing and analyzing related gene sequence data, for the purpose of comparing genome organization at the gene-order level. GOAT can be used to compare any two or more genomes or chromosomes on demand, or configured to provide access to precomputed comparisons of a specific group of genome sequences.

Objectives: Certain group-living mammals-including many primates-exhibit affiliative relationships between sexes that persist past copulation. Relationships between females and males in baboons (Papio sp.) are particularly well-characterized.

Background In 2024, reimbursement for gemcitabine-docetaxel therapy (GEM-DOC; gemcitabine 900 mg/m on days 1 and 8 and docetaxel 70 mg/m on day 8 every 21 days, GEM 900-DOC 70) to treat recurrent/metastatic soft tissue sarcoma (STS) was made in Japan. Methods We retrospectively reviewed clinical records of advanced/metastatic STS patients who underwent off-label gemcitabine-containing chemotherapy at the Cancer Institute Hospital of the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research between February 2007 and October 2019. Results Of 115 enrolled patients, 51 were treated with GEM-DOC (26 patients received the dose as previously stated) and the other 64 with gemcitabine monotherapy.

Protocadherin 19 (PCDH19) is an adhesion molecule involved in cell-cell interaction whose mutations cause a drug-resistant form of epilepsy, named PCDH19-Clustering Epilepsy (PCDH19-CE, MIM 300088). The mechanism by which altered PCDH19 function drive pathogenesis is not yet fully understood. Our previous work showed that PCDH19 dysfunction is associated with altered orientation of the mitotic spindle and accelerated neurogenesis, suggesting a contribution of altered cytoskeleton organization in PCDH19-CE pathogenesis in the control of cell division and differentiation.

Background: Histone modification H3K27me3 plays a critical role in normal development and is associated with various diseases, including cancer. This modification forms large chromatin domains, known as Large Organized Chromatin Lysine Domains (LOCKs), which span several hundred kilobases.
Result: In this study, we identify and categorize H3K27me3 LOCKs in 109 normal human samples, distinguishing between long and short LOCKs.
