Aim: Breast cancer (BC), a disease in which abnormal breast cells grow out of control and form tumors, is a prevalent life-threatening disease worldwide. Oxidative stress has been implicated in the development and progression of various cancers, including BC. Assessing lipid peroxidation and overall antioxidant status in BC offers valuable information on disease progression, patient prognosis, and the effectiveness of therapeutic options.

Adenylate cyclase family members have recently received attention as novel therapeutic targets. However, the significance of adenylate cyclase 9 (ADCY9) in breast cancer has not been elucidated. Here, we evaluated expression in breast cancer (BC) cell lines, and polymerase chain reaction array analysis was performed to determine the correlations between expression levels and 84 tumor-associated genes.

Objective: Current evidence on the association between depression and cancer risk is conflicting, with little understanding of how associations vary by time period or sociodemographic factors. We aimed to compare cancer incidence in people with versus without a previous hospital admission record for depression, by sociodemographic factors and over time.
Methods: We conducted a cohort study using national linked data in Scotland from 1991 to 2019.
