Based on an analysis of the dynamic ultrasonic, biochemical and hormonal data on 550 patients operated on for cholelithiasis and comparison of preoperative and pathomorphological diagnoses, indications for surgical treatment of cholelithiasis patients in the stage of so-called "lithocarriership" were developed and a group at risk for cancer was identified as well. A comprehensive analysis of the clinical and instrumental data on 185 patients operated on for cholelithiasis, made in the long-term periods (from 1 to 3 years) after cholecystectomy indicates the efficacy of differentiated rehabilitation treatment, including elderly subjects and the necessity of early surgical treatment of cholelithiasis before there may develop irreversible alterations in the choledochus, liver and pancreas and in the gallbladder itself. Comparison of the dynamic ultrasonic data, liver and pancreas functions and factors such as sex, age, obesity and physical exercise makes it possible to predict the course of cholelithiasis to a certain degree of probability at the asymptomatic stage and to specify the policy of managing such patients under ambulatory conditions.

This paper provides a state-of-the-art review of recent developments in structural fatigue monitoring using piezoelectric-based sensors. Compared to alternative sensing technologies, piezoelectric sensors offer distinct advantages, including compact size, lightweight design, low cost, flexible formats, and high sensitivity to dynamic loads.

In this paper, a method of ultrasound-assisted low-pressure closed acid digestion followed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis was proposed for trace element quantification in rock samples. By using 1.5 mL of a binary acid mixture of HNO-HF with a ratio of 2:1, rock powder samples of 50 mg were completely decomposed in 12 h at 140 °C after 4 h of ultrasonic treatment with or without pressure relief procedure.

This paper highlights the optimisation of a key design parameter essential to the development of PMUTs, which are part of the transmitting components of microsensors. These microsensors are designed for use in the Structural Health Monitoring of reinforced concrete structures. Enhancing the effectiveness of the transmitting component allows for greater spacing between microsensors, which in turn reduces the number of devices needed to implement a full structural health monitoring system.

Coaxial rotor helicopters have many advantages and have a wide range of civilian and military applications; however, there is a risk of blade collision between the upper and lower rotor blades, and the challenge still exists in balancing rotor parameters and flight control. In this paper, a blade tip distance measurement method based on coded ultrasonic ranging and phase triggering is proposed to tackle this measurement environment and expand the application of ultrasonic ranging in high-speed dynamic measurement. The time of flight () of coded ultrasonic ranging is calculated by the amplitude threshold improvement method and cross-correlation method, and the sound velocity is compensated by a proposed multi-factor compensation method.
