Subtle structural deformities of the cerebral cortex have been shown to be the cause of seizures in patients with refractory epilepsy. Brain imaging using high-resolution focused protocols with standard head coils may not provide sufficient image quality needed for evaluating subtle cortical abnormalities. The authors describe the use of a readily available shoulder coil placed over a specific area of the brain that has been clinically determined to enhance the signal to noise and resolution of the cortical surface. Delineating the cortical surface using a shoulder coil can help to detect subtle areas of cortical thickening, blurring of the gray-white matter junction, or focally abnormal gyral and sulcal patterns.

Objectives: To explore the effects of low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (LF-rTMS) on motor function and cortical excitability in stroke patients with different motor evoked potential (MEP) status.
Methods: A total of 80 stroke patients were enrolled in this randomized controlled trial and divided into two groups according to MEP status (- or +) of lesioned hemisphere. Then, each group was randomly assigned to receive either active or sham LF-rTMS.
Objective: To provide a video tutorial on the diagnostic ultrasound approach to the medial compartment of the canine shoulder and provide comparisons of normal and pathological images with corresponding MRI.
Animals: Dogs undergoing diagnostic ultrasound of the medial shoulder.
Methods: The medial shoulder was positioned in flexion with external rotation to allow transducer access, clipped, and scrubbed with dilute chlorhexidine.

Approach: Previous work has combined compressed sensing with parallel imaging using model-based reconstruction but without taking advantage of the structured sparsity. Blurry images for each coil are reconstructed from the fully sampled center region.

In the era of post-Coronavirus Disease 2019, the dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS), which provides 100% outdoor air for the building, is widely acknowledged as it can ensure acceptable indoor air quality by delivering fresh outdoor air to occupied space. The DOAS with a proper design and operation can provide sufficient ventilation and dehumidification while achieving energy efficiency.
