Comprehensive genetic analysis of tumors with exome or whole genome sequencing has enabled the identification of the genes that are recurrently mutated in cancer. This has stimulated a series of exciting advances over the past 15 years, guiding us to new molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets among the common mature B-cell neoplasms. In particular, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), follicular lymphoma (FL) and Burkitt lymphoma (BL) have each been the subject of considerable attention in this field.

Recent advancements in deep learning have significantly improved medical image segmentation. However, the generalization performance and potential risks of data-driven models remain insufficiently validated. Specifically, unrealistic segmentation predictions deviating from actual anatomical structures, known as a Seg-Hallucination, often occur in deep learning-based models.

The present study focuses on the possible use of the emerging technology of blockchain in ensuring data management security in clinical trials. With the determination of the chief researchers and clinical investigations becoming more and more complex and international, achieving data quality and integrity, transparency, and legal compliance becomes imperative. By offering a distributed and immutable time-stamped ledger, issues of data revisions, selective data release, and the usually time-consuming issue of compliance auditing are well addressed.

The scope of management of malignant gastric outlet obstruction is ever-expanding. The therapeutic use of endoscopy is gaining popularity not just owing to its technical advancement and satisfactory patient outcomes. With technical success rates close to 96%, stent placement for palliating gastric obstruction has ensured a median survival of about 2 months post-deployment of gastro-duodenal stents.

Lynch syndrome is associated with an increased risk of cancer, including endometrial cancer. We audited the introduction of a nurse-led testing and management pathway for Lynch syndrome. All 191 patients diagnosed with endometrial cancer at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust between January 2022 and December 2023 were tested for mis-match repair (MMR) protein immunohistochemistry; germline testing was offered to all 13 who were eligible.
