A failed medical termination of pregnancy at 16 weeks' gestation proved to be due to a uterine malformation. Delay in diagnosis resulted in uterine rupture and the need for an emergency laparotomy. Recommendations are made for earlier diagnosis.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the sensitivity and specificity of the Yale Swallow Protocol (YSP) in detecting aspiration in recently extubated patients.
Method: One hundred fifty-four participants referred for swallowing evaluation underwent the YSP and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) in random order within 48 hr of extubation. The YSP included orientation questions, an oral motor exam, and a 3-oz water swallow test.
A locally administered single-cycle influenza vaccine expressing a non-fusogenic stabilized hemagglutinin stimulates strong T-cell and neutralizing antibody immunity.

Unlabelled: Current influenza vaccination approaches protect against specific viral strains, but do not consistently induce broad and long-lasting protection to the diversity of circulating influenza viruses. Single-cycle viruses delivered to the respiratory tract may offer a promising solution as they safely express a diverse array of viral antigens by undergoing just one round of cell infection in their host and stimulate broadly protective resident memory T-cell responses in the lung. We have previously developed a vaccine candidate called S-FLU, which is limited to a single cycle of infection by inactivation of the hemagglutinin signal sequence and induces a broadly cross-reactive T-cell response and antibodies to neuraminidase, but fails to induce neutralizing antibodies to hemagglutinin after intranasal administration.

We report the case of a 73-year-old male with a history of recurrent coronary interventions who presented with progressive angina and was diagnosed with a chronic total occlusion (CTO) of a heavily calcified and tortuous right coronary artery (RCA). Standard antegrade and retrograde techniques were attempted but failed due to the complexity of the lesion. A novel "Drag-Drill" technique was employed, utilizing a retrogradely externalized RG3 guidewire as a rotational atherectomy wire, enabling successful rotational atherectomy and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Here, we used CRISPR/Cas9-based screening to identify DNA Ligase I (LIG1) as a novel target for synthetic lethality in BRCA1-mutated cancers. Publicly available data supported LIG1 hyperdependence of BRCA1-mutant cells across a variety of breast and ovarian cancer cell lines.
