Necessary tools for designers and physicians include person analysis, user testing, and adherence to best practice guidelines. It is important to note that as glucometer systems change, new usability problems may arise as prior issues are resolved. However, some problems may be avoided prior to system production by using the theoretical background and guidelines provided by human factors specialists.
