Objective: An electric monitor of bruxism had been invented in order to evaluate the curative effect of cuspid occlusal upheaving splint and stabilization splint.

Methods: 20 patients with bruxism were randomly divided into two groups. A cuspid occlusal upheaving splint or a stabilization splint was fabricated respectively for patients. The vertical dimension for each splint was 0.5 mm lower than mandibular postural position. Sleeping time, bruxist time and times of bruxism were recorded with bruxism monitor that was invented for studying bruxing.

Results: The bruxist time and the times of bruxism were decreased obviously in patients with cuspid occlusal upheaving splint, while no significant difference was shown before and after using the stabilization splint.

Conclusions: The bruxism monitor can automatically measure and record the data of bruxism with splint, which is valuable for clinic. The curative effect of cuspid occlusal upheaving splint is better than that of stabilization splint for treating bruxism.

Objective: To evaluate volumetric changes over time in teeth treated with the Hall Technique (HT) and their opposing teeth. Secondary aims included assessing occluso-vertical dimension (OVD), temporomandibular joint (TMJ) function, and children's treatment perceptions.

Methods: Twenty-eight children (5-9 years-old) requiring HT treatment for one first primary molar were recruited.

Background: This retrospective study aimed to investigate the relationships between the radiographic features of impacted maxillary canines (IMCs) and traction duration and the factors affecting treatment success.

Methods: Pre-treatment panoramic radiographs and patient records of 121 consecutive patients with IMCs were analyzed. The measurements included the angle of the IMC with the midline (α-angle), the horizontal position of the IMC relative to the adjacent teeth (S-Sector), the distance from the IMC to the occlusal plane (d-distance), the apex position of the IMC (A), and the vertical height of the IMC relative to the adjacent lateral tooth (V).

Objectives: To develop a reproducible, reliable clinical index of alveolar bone grafting (ABG) outcome based on the eruption position of the cleft canine tooth and determine the association between eruption position and radiographic outcome at 6 months post-grafting.

Methods: Children with complete, non-syndromic, unilateral/bilateral cleft lip and palate in the West of Scotland were identified. Post-ABG radiographic outcome (Kindelan index) and canine eruption position in children with a cleft of the alveolus who had undergone ABG were documented.

Patients seek orthodontic treatment to correct unesthetic and asymmetric smiles because even a minimal cant of 4 is well perceived by a layperson. This case report describes a nonsurgical orthodontic management of iatrogenic occlusal canting in a 22-year-old female, who developed it during a previous orthodontic treatment for an impacted canine. The iatrogenic cant was corrected by the intrusion of the left mandibular segment followed by extrusion of left maxillary segment using mini-implants.

Objectives: To digitally evaluate the trueness and fit of additively and subtractively manufactured fixed complete dentures in materials intended for definitive use.

Methods: An edentulous maxillary model with implants at the left first molar, left canine, right canine, and right first molar site was digitized and a fixed complete denture was designed. This design was used to fabricate fixed dentures in an additively manufactured resin for definitive use (AM), a high-impact polymer composite (SM-CR), and a strength gradient zirconia (SM-ZR) (n = 10).
