We recorded the auditory evoked magnetic fields from adults with and without absolute pitch under the following conditions: hearing 1000 Hz pure tones inattentively (single tone session) and listening to eight random tones and identifying each tone (labeling session). In the adults with absolute pitch, the bilateral N100m dipole moments increased significantly in the labeling session. While, in the adults without absolute pitch, the left N100m dipole moment alone increased in the labeling session. These results suggest that the adults with absolute pitch execute the labeling task in the bilateral auditory cortices with interhemispheric cooperation, which does not operate in the adults without absolute pitch.

This study delves into how various musical factors influence the experience of auditory illusions, building on Diana Deutsch's scale illusion experiments and subsequent studies. Exploring the interaction between scale mode and timbre, this study assesses their influence on auditory misperceptions, while also considering the impact of an individual's musical training and ability to discern absolute pitch. Participants were divided into nonmusicians, musicians with absolute pitch, and musicians with relative pitch, and were exposed to stimuli modified across three scale modes (tonal, dissonant, atonal) and two timbres (same, different).

: Accurate determination of the natural head position (NHP) is essential in orthognathic surgery for optimal surgical planning and improved patient outcomes. However, traditional methods encounter reproducibility issues and rely on external devices or patient cooperation, potentially leading to inaccuracies in the surgical plan. : To address these limitations, we developed a geometric deep learning network (NHP-Net) to automatically reproduce NHP from CT scans.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide proof of concept for at-home measurements of the tinnitus spectrum.
Method: Nineteen participants completed pitch similarity ratings in the laboratory and at home. All participants first completed laboratory tests (at 500-16000 Hz) and then later completed at-home tests (at 250-8000 Hz) using their own personal computers and headphones.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) often goes undiagnosed due to the absence of clear biomarkers. We sought to identify voice biomarkers for MDD and separate biomarkers indicative of MDD predisposition from biomarkers reflecting current depressive symptoms. Using a two-stage meta-analytic design to remove confounds, we tested the association between features representing vocal pitch and MDD in a multisite case-control cohort study of Chinese women with recurrent depression.

Iterative refinement of the classification index for research is needed to incorporate newly available data as the field rapidly evolves.
Objective: To update the 2023 research index for adults with LC using additional participant data from the Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery (RECOVER-Adult) study and an expanded symptom list based on input from patient communities.
