The authors present a case report of a 60-year-old man with a hepatic unknown mass. For diagnosis, they used ECO, CT (with and without contrast), MR (with and without contrast) and an ultrasound-assisted percutaneous lesion biopsy. Thus the mass-lesion in the liver appeared to be an intrahepatic accessory spleen in a patient afflicted with chronic hepatitis.

Double common bile duct (DCBD), also called extrahepatic biliary duct duplication, is a rare anatomical variation of the biliary anatomy that involves either the presence of a septum within the common bile duct (CBD) or an accessory CBD. The first case of DCBD was reported by Vesarius in 1543. A classification system for DCBD that included five types was proposed in 2007.

Background And Aims: To investigate the feasibility and long-term outcomes of hepatic vein (HV) recanalization using intrahepatic collateral pathways in patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) with HV obstruction.

Methods: Clinical data of 29 BCS patients with HV obstruction and intrahepatic collateral pathways were reviewed. All patients underwent HV recanalization through the intrahepatic collaterals.

Background & Aims: Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) loss or functional cure (FC) is considered the optimal therapeutic outcome for patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). However, the immune-pathological biomarkers and underlying mechanisms of FC remain unclear. In this study we comprehensively interrogate disease-associated cell states identified within intrahepatic tissue and matched PBMCs (peripheral blood mononuclear cells) from patients with CHB or after FC, at the resolution of single cells, to provide novel insights into putative mechanisms underlying FC.

Cholangiocarcinoma is a heterogeneous group of aggressive tumors that correspond to the second most common primary liver tumor. They can be classified according to their anatomical position concerning the biliary tree, and each subtype demonstrates different behavior and treatment. A 38-year-old male patient presenting solely right lumbar pain was diagnosed with a 7 cm hepatic tumor involving segments I, Iva, and VIII associated with involvement of the hepatic veins.

Introduction: Minimally invasive resection for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma is an emerging technique that requires both mastery in minimally invasive liver resection and biliary reconstruction. Due to technical difficulties in biliovascular dissection, radical portal lymphadenectomy and the need for fine suturing during bilioenteric anastomosis, this type of resection is generally not performed laparoscopically, even at high-volume, liver-surgery centers. In modern literature, a detailed, operative description of robotic technique for this operation with outcome data is lacking.
