This study was designed to quantify the clinical and marketing effectiveness of the Pocket EKG Clinical Based Marketing Program by measuring its impact on new patient visits, patient satisfaction, payor negotiations, and patient management at Pikes Peak Cardiology (PPC), Colorado Springs, Colorado. New patient visits were found to increase by 22% for 6.5 consecutive years. Ninety-two percent of patients surveyed found that the Pocket EKG Card promoted loyalty to the cardiology practice. The Pocket EKG Patient Satisfaction Survey was proven to satisfy Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set (HEDIS) guidelines as required in payor contracting. Finally, access to a baseline electrocardiogram contributed to a 54% reduction in unnecessary hospitalization. The Pocket EKG Clinical Based Marketing Program proved to successfully market PPC to its three customers: patients, payors, and primary care physicians.

Background: Insertable cardiac monitor implantation is a simple and safe procedure commonly performed in patients with embolic stroke with undetermined source. Routine periprocedural antibiotic use is not recommended, because infection rate is very low, although some local infection or gram-positive bacteremia have been reported. We report a case of Pseudomonas monteilii sepsis immediately after insertable cardiac monitor implantation.

Intracavitary electrocardiography (IC-ECG) is a non-invasive method for intraprocedural tip location during central venous catheterization. Over the last 20 years, the IC-ECG method has been thoroughly investigated and many studies have confirmed its wide applicability and feasibility, as well as its great accuracy and safety in different populations of patients and in different types of central venous access devices (CVADs). This retrospective study presents a two-center experience with tip location of central venous catheters using IC-ECG, by means of a new wireless portable device.

This study analyzed radiation dose data to observe the annual decline in ambient radiation doses and assess the factors contributing to fluctuations in reconstructed areas of the Fukushima prefecture. Utilizing a novel mobile monitoring system installed on a community minibus, the study employed a cost-effective sensor, namely, Pocket Geiger which was integrated with a microcontroller and telecommunication system for data transfer, access, visualization, and accumulation. The study area included the region between Okuma and Tomioka towns.

Introduction: Left bundle branch pacing has gained significant momentum in the last few years. The procedure involves deploying the lead deep inside the interventricular septum through left subclavian vein. We aimed at analyzing the feasibility, efficacy and long-term outcome of left bundle branch pacing (LBBP) using lumen-less lead through the right subclavian vein.
