Article Abstract

Aim: To obtain and express the full-length of TRAIL gene in prokaryocytes.

Methods: The full-length of TRAIL gene was amplified from peripheral blood cells(PBCs)by RT-PCR and then cloned into the expression vector pGEX-2T. The TRAIL-GST was expressed in E.coli.

Results: Sequence analysis indicated that the sequence of TRAIL gene was identical with that in the GenBank. The TRAIL-GST was expressed in E.coli. Expressed product could inhibit the proliferation of KB and Hela cells and finally lead to their apoptosis.

Conclusion: The TRAIL-GST with biological activity has been expressed in the prokaryotic system.

Background: Rare bleeding disorders (RBDs) include fibrinogen (Factor I), prothrombin (Factor II), Factor V(FV), combined Factor V and Factor VIII, Factor VII, Factor X, Factor XI, Factor XII, and Factor XIII deficiencies. This group accounts for 3-5% of all factor deficiencies. Different symptoms may occur, ranging from mild or moderate bleeding to serious and life-threatening bleeding, which may not be related to the factor level.

Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is an aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis, often diagnosed at advanced stages due to subtle early symptoms. Recent studies have provided a comprehensive view of GBC's genetic and mutational landscape, uncovering crucial pathways involved in its pathogenesis. Environmental exposures, particularly to heavy metals, have been linked to elevated GBC risk.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has great potential and advantages in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Wutou decoction (WTD) was first recorded as a pill in the TCM classical book Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber written by Zhang Zhongjing in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 CE). It has significant therapeutic effects in delaying and reversing RA while improving patients' clinical symptoms, making it the best example of TCM treatment for RA.

Purpose: To explore the association between tumor necrosis factor-associated apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) gene polymorphism and susceptibility to diabetic periodontitis.

Methods: A total of 150 patients with type 2 diabetes were selected from September 2022 to September 2023. The patients were divided into combined group(n=50), non-combined group (n=50) and control group (n=50) according to whether they had periodontitis.

Fatty acids are a requirement for normal development, however, since humans are unable to de novo produce essential fatty acids, they must be obtained from diet. Atlantic salmon is a major dietary source of nutritious and digestible fatty acids. Here, we set out to uncover the genomic basis of individual fatty acids and indices (saturated fatty acids, monounsaturated fatty acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, n-3, and n-6) in 208 North American Atlantic salmon, to understand selection potential toward increasing relative quantities of essential fatty acids and to identify candidate genes for future research.
