Aim: To observe the influence of bondage stress on Th1/Th2 cytokines and growth of tumor in mice bearing S180 tumor cells.
Methods: 2 x 10(6) S180 tumor cells were injected subcutaneously into the murine right oxter, and bondage stress was imposed on mice for 8 hours per day,ten days running. Then T lymphocyte proliferation was detected by MTT colorimetry. IFN-gamma and IL-2 secreted by splenocytes was measured by mitogen-activating lymphoblast assay and macrophage NO production assay. At the same time, the levels of IL-4 and IL-10 in serum were detected by ELISA, and the weight of the tumors and thymuses were measured.
Results: Compared with mice only injected with S180 tumor cells, tumor bearing mice suffered from bondage stress showed decreased T lymphocyte proliferation, thymus index, and levels of IFN-gamma and IL-2, but increased levels of IL-4 and IL-10(P<0.05), and tumor weight (P<0.01).
Conclusion: Bondage stress could aggravate the suppression of cellular immunity in mice bearing S180 tumor and promote the T cells to shift towards Th2 type cells, which may be one of the mechanisms of promoting tumor growth by bondage stress.

In this theoretical paper the authors explore the connections between BDSM (i.e., practices involving bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, sadism, masochism) and CSA (childhood sexual abuse) in order to investigate the potential unconscious mechanisms at play and the therapeutic functions of BDSM practices among CSA victims.

Background: There is a lack of research on autistic intimacy; however, a small body of research suggests that bondage, discipline, domination, submission, sadism and (sado)masochism (BDSM)/kink may be appealing to autistic people. We aimed at exploring how engagement in BDSM/kink related to autistic identity, using a phenomenological approach.
Methods: We recruited six autistic adults through purposive sampling on social media.

Background: Nano starch-lutein (NS-L) can be used in three-dimensional (3D) printed functional surimi. However, the lutein release and printing effect are not ideal. The purpose of this study was to facilitate the function and printing properties of surimi by adding the combination of calcium ion (Ca ) and NS-L.

Introduction: BDSM is an abbreviation used to reference the concepts of bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism, enacted by power exchanges between consensual partners. In recent years, attention has shifted from the idea of BDSM as a pathological and tabooed niche practice towards viewing BDSM as a healthy form of intimacy.
Aim: This systematic review brings together all existing literature on the biology of BDSM and places it in a broader biological context.
