Objective: Fournier's gangrene (FG) is a rare, life-threatening necrotizing fasciitis primarily affecting the perineal, genital, and perianal regions. This rapidly progressing bacterial infection predominantly affects middleaged and elderly men. This multicenter study aims to describe the management in a wide cohort of Fournier's gangrene cases that presented to three tertiary centers with early extensive surgical debridement.

Background: The clinical characteristics, therapy, and outcome of Fournier Gangrene (FG) in patients using sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) were examined in this systematic review.
Methods: Without a publication year restriction, we searched PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Cochrane. Additionally, we manually searched bibliographies using the terms "Fournier's gangrene" and "SGLT2 inhibitors.
The CRP/PAB ratio outperforms the LRINEC score in early diagnosis of Fournier's gangrene.

Although the Laboratory Risk Indicator for Necrotizing Fasciitis (LRINEC) score was established in 2004, its reliability as a diagnostic tool to differentiate between FG and perianal abscess is still debated.
