Nonparametric tests for investigating the separability of a spatial-temporal marked point process are described and compared. It is shown that a Cramer-von Mises-type test is very powerful at detecting gradual departures from separability, and that a residual test based on randomly rescaling the process is powerful at detecting nonseparable clustering or inhibition of the marks. An application to Los Angeles County wildfire data is given, in which it is shown that the separability hypothesis is invalidated largely due to clustering of fires of similar sizes within periods of up to 3.9 years.

We investigate multimodal seismicity by analyzing it as the result of multiple seismic sources. We examine three case studies: the Redoubt and Spurr regions in Alaska, where volcanic and subduction-related seismicity occur, and the Kii Peninsula in Japan, where shallow and deep earthquakes are clearly separated. To understand this phenomenon, we perform spatial, temporal, and magnitude analyses.

Cells are compartmentalized into different organelles to ensure precise spatial temporal control and efficient operation of cellular processes. Membraneless organelles, also known as biomolecular condensates, are emerging as previously underappreciated ways of organizing cellular functions. Condensates allow local concentration of protein, RNA, or DNA molecules with shared functions, thus facilitating spatiotemporal control of biochemical reactions spanning a range of cellular processes.

The aim of this study is to reveal the spatial-temporal characteristics and influencing factors of the static and dynamic distribution of global cruise ships, against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has transformed the global cruise network from "lines" to "points". This study collected trajectory data for 292 cruise ships and data for 789 cruise ports worldwide from March 2020 to July 2021. Based on the relationship between port and navigation, port management rights research, and port geography theory, we analyzed the spatial distribution and spatiotemporal migration of cruise ships with ArcGIS tools.
