The understanding of the nature and extent of morphological processing is critical to the overall investigation of how words are organized in the mind. In this overview article, we discuss the nature of morphological processing and the domain of morphological processing research. We claim that investigations crucially involve the understanding of relations among morphologically simple and morphologically complex words, and sketch how specific questions of morphological processing within the 2004 special issue on the mental lexicon fall under these categories. Finally, we discuss issues of construct, content and ecological validity within the field and what morphological processing can reveal about the association of form and meaning in the mind.

Plant chloroplasts store starch during the day, which acts as a source of carbohydrates and energy at night. Starch granule initiation relies on the elongation of malto-oligosaccharide primers. In Arabidopsis thaliana, PROTEIN TARGETING TO STARCH 2 (PTST2) and STARCH SYNTHASE 4 (SS4) are essential for the selective binding and elongation of malto-oligosaccharide primers, respectively, and very few granules are initiated in their absence.

Water contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), particularly naphthalene, is a serious environmental concern due to its persistence, bioaccumulation, and toxicity. This study explores the adsorption behavior of naphthalene using organobentonite (OBt), synthesized by intercalating cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) into sodium bentonite (SBt) with varying cation exchange capacities (CECs). The effectiveness of OBt in naphthalene adsorption was evaluated by analyzing key parameters, including CEC, contaminant concentration, and contact time.
