In this Letter we report exact results on the infrared asymptotics of the one-particle dynamical correlation function of the gas of impenetrable spin 1/2 fermions at infinitesimal temperature. The correlation function shows signs of spin-charge separation with scaling behavior in the charge part and exponential decay as a function of the space coordinate in the spin part. Surprisingly, the anomalous dimensions in the charge part do not correspond to any unitary conformal field theory. We find that the fermion spectral weight has a power law divergency at low energy with the anomalous exponent -1/2.

We computed the phase diagram of zigzag graphene nanoribbons as a function of on-site repulsion, doping, and disorder strength. The topologically ordered phase undergoes topological phase transitions into crossover phases, which are new disordered phases with non-universal topological entanglement entropy that exhibits significant variance. We explored the nature of non-local correlations in both the topologically ordered and crossover phases.

Multiple works suggest the possibility of classification of quantum spin Hall effect with magnetic flux tubes, which cause separation of spin and charge degrees of freedom and pumping of spin or Kramers-pair. However, the proof of principle demonstration of spin-charge separation is yet to be accomplished for realistic, ab initio band structures of spin-orbit-coupled materials, lacking spin-conservation law. In this work, we perform thought experiments with magnetic flux tubes on [Formula: see text]-bismuthene, and demonstrate spin-charge separation, and quantized pumping of spin for three insulating states, that can be accessed by tuning filling fractions.

The Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid (TLL) theory describes the low-energy excitations of strongly correlated one-dimensional (1D) fermions. In the past years, a number of studies have provided a detailed understanding of this universality class. More recently, theoretical investigations that go beyond the standard low-temperature, linear-response TLL regime have been developed.

The interface of perovskite heterostructures has been shown to exhibit various electronic and magnetic phases such as two-dimensional electron gas, magnetism, superconductivity, and electronic phase separation. These rich phases are expected due to the strong interplay between spin, charge, and orbital degree of freedom at the interface. In this work, the polar and nonpolar interfaces are designed in LaMnO-based (LMO) superlattices to investigate the difference in magnetic and transport properties.

We show that effectively cold metastable states in one-dimensional photodoped Mott insulators described by the extended Hubbard model exhibit spin, charge, and η-spin separation. Their wave functions in the large on-site Coulomb interaction limit can be expressed as |Ψ⟩=|Ψ_{charge}⟩|Ψ_{spin}⟩|Ψ_{η-spin}⟩, which is analogous to the Ogata-Shiba states of the doped Hubbard model in equilibrium. Here, the η-spin represents the type of photo-generated pseudoparticles (doublon or holon).
