In a typical minimally invasive cryoprocedure, multiple cryoprobes are inserted into the tissue with the goal of maximizing cryoinjury within a predefined target region, while minimizing cryoinjury to the surrounding tissues. A temperature-controlled electrical heater has been developed recently by this research team, in order to assist in limiting the cryoinjury to the target region. The new device has been termed a 'cryoheater,' and it can work with any cryosurgical cooling technique. A prototype computerized planning tool has been presented recently by this research team, which helps to determine the best locations in which to insert the cryoprobes. This prototype was designed for cryoprobes only. The planning procedure utilized a novel iterative optimization technique, based on a force-field analogy. The combination of cryoheaters with computerized planning is the subject matter of this report. The current report includes a review of cryoheater development, and presents an improved cryosurgery planning tool which incorporates cryoheaters.

Background: Precision nutrition-based methods develop tailored interventions and/or recommendations accounting for determinants of intra- and inter-individual variation in response to the same diet, compared to current 'one-size-fits-all' population-level approaches. Determinants may include genetics, current dietary habits and eating patterns, circadian rhythms, health status, gut microbiome, socioeconomic and psychosocial characteristics, and physical activity. In this systematic review, we examined the evidence base for the effect of interventions based on precision nutrition approaches on overweight and obesity in children and adolescents to help inform future research and global guidelines.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical outcomes and define the indications for a one-stage mandibular reconstruction technique that combines iliac bone flaps with immediate implant-based dentures, and to assess both the accuracy of surgical planning and the long-term success of the procedure.
Methods: A total of ten patients underwent the procedure at Peking University Hospital of Stomatology between June 2020 and August 2023. The preoperative biopsy pathology of all the patients confirmed a benign tumor.

Background: The ability of conventional ultrasound (US)-guided liver biopsy to visualize certain liver lesions, particularly those affected by conditions like hepatitis or cirrhosis, which can obscure lesion boundaries and lead to inaccurate biopsy targeting, is limited. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of multimodal US techniques to improve the visibility of liver lesions that are indistinct under conventional US, and to enhance the success rate of percutaneous biopsies.
Methods: In total, 144 patients with liver masses and lesions that were not clearly visible on conventional US from October 2018 to January 2024 were enrolled in this retrospective analysis.

Background: Ideal blood inventory management involves guaranteeing maximal availability of blood while minimizing wastage. Benchmark for the guidance of O (Rh) D-negative red blood cells (ONEG RBCs) is not widely available. In this study, we aimed to identify the areas of improvement in blood center inventory of ONEG RBCs through a clinical audit.

Self-injury is common in all countries, and 20% of South Korean youths experience self-injury. One of the barriers to assessment and treatment planning is the tendency of young self-injurers to conceal their identities. Following a new stream of research that uses online text data to assess psychological symptoms as they are described in online posts, this study developed a computerized machine that can analyze South Korean self-injurers' writing in assessing their self-injury severity.
