This study observed the potassium oxalate including fluoride gel on the reduction of dentin hypersensitivity both in clinic and in laboratory. The results of the clinical treatment showed that this gel was statistically significant in reducing dentin hypersensitivity when the teeth treating by the gel for 4 minutes. The results of the scanning electric microscope(SEM) research indicated that the gel could create micro-globed particles deposition on the dentine surface. These particles have the ability to block the dentinal tubules and to decrease dentin hypersensitivity. In conclusion, this gel is an effective and safe topical agent for dentin hypersensitivity treatment.

Background/purpose: Tubular occlusion is an effective method to treat dentin hypersensitivity. This study aimed to determine the effect of a modified methyl methacrylate-p-styrene sulfonic acid copolymer-based gel desensitizer on dentin permeability and tubule occlusion in extracted human premolars.
Materials And Methods: Hydraulic conductance (HC) measurement (n = 50) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM; n = 64) were performed.

Background/purpose: This study assessed the ability of experimental materials consisting of dicalcium silicate (DCS) and tricalcium silicate (TCS) with nanosized particles to form intratubular crystals under phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) and the effect on dentin permeability reduction.
Materials And Methods: By isolating the cervical part of the extracted premolars, 195 specimens were obtained. Two experimental materials (DCS/TCS and TCS) were applied to the dentin surface by brushing and stored in PBS (n = 65).

Aim: Tooth sensitivity caused by exposed dentin tubules is a common clinical problem requiring correct treatment methods. Owing to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, it has become common to use different mouthwashes, including 1.5% hydrogen peroxide (HP), before dental procedures.

Objectives: To investigate if photobiomodulation (PBM) can reduce dentin hypersensitivity (DH) through a randomized, controlled, double-blind clinical trial.
Materials And Methods: One hundred and twelve patients experiencing DH after non-surgical scaling and root planing (SRP) were enrolled and divided into the Experimental Group - SRP + PBM (660 nm, 1.061 J/cm²) and the Control Group - SRP + PBM simulation.

Background: Dentin hypersensitivity affects a significant portion of the world's population, causing pain and negatively impacting oral health and quality of life This clinical study investigated the effectiveness of a desensitizing fluoride silicon-rich dental gel associated with a calcium booster.
Material And Methods: In this single-blind, randomized, parallel-group clinical trial, forty-eight volunteers diagnosed with dentin hypersensitivity and qualified to participate were randomized into 2 groups: (1) fluoride silicon-rich dental gel (REFX Technology)/calcium booster (Si/Ca protocol); (2) Pumice stone diluted in saline. A draw was carried out between the right and left sides of the patients so that either a prophylaxis with the dental gel associated with calcium or with fine pumice stone diluted in saline was carried out.
