In the present work, the repairing response of the iliac arterial wall is studied after carrying out autografts in segments of these vessels. The formation of the intimal hyperplasia, which occurred in all the cases, was followed at the biochemical level (tritium thymidine incorporation) and with light and electron microscopy. The adventitial layer showed great activity during the repairing process. We believe that it plays an important role not only in neoadventitial formation, but also in myointimal raising.

Background: Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) remains the leading cause of mortality in the western world despite the success of lipid lowering therapies, highlighting the need for novel lipid-independent therapeutic strategies. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified numerous genes associated with ASCVD that function in the vessel wall, suggesting that vascular cells mediate ASCVD, and that the genes and pathways essential for this vascular cell function may be novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of ASCVD. Furthermore, some of these implicated genes appear to function in the adventitial layer of the vasculature, suggesting these cells are able to potentiate ASCVD.

Background: Obesity is a risk factor for developing cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) by impairing normal vascular function. Natural products are gaining momentum in the clinical setting due to their high efficacy and low toxicity. extract (CFE) has been shown to control appetite and promote weight loss; however, its effect on vascular function remains poorly understood.

Noninfected and infected livers were collected from the freshly slaughtered buffalo at the Aligarh abattoir. Small pieces of both infected and noninfected livers ( = 5) were cut and processed for histologic and histochemical studies.

Introduction: We present a case of late endograft infection that progressed to the left iliac and femoral arteries, leading to left lower extremity gangrene, and the patient's death.
Case: A 65-year-old male with a history of endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) developed left acute limb ischemia (Rutherford category III) and abdominal pain. A CT scan showed significant gas formation around the endograft and complete occlusion of the left distal iliac artery to the femoral arteries.

Objectives: One possible reason for the long-term patency of no-touch (NT) saphenous vein grafts (SVG) is the preservation of the vasa vasorum in the adventitia/perivascular adipose tissue (PAT). We investigated the vasa vasorum of the NT SVG in vivo using frequency-domain optical coherence tomography (FD-OCT), performed qualitative and quantitative analyses and compared them with the conventional SVG.
Methods: An FD-OCT study was performed on 14 SVG at the postoperative coronary angiography 1-2 weeks postoperatively (NT group, n = 9; conventional group, n = 5).
