Purpose: To estimate the overall effect of 1000 ppm F relative to 250 ppm F toothpaste.
Methods: Experimental caries increment studies from the dental literature, which compared 1000 ppm with 250 ppm fluoride toothpastes, were summarized using meta-analytic methods.
Results: The overall caries reduction of 1000 ppm F relative to 250 ppm F paste was estimated to be 0.142 (95%-CL: 0.074-0.210) when applying a fixed effects model and 0.129 (95%-CL: 0.012-0.230) when applying a random effects model.
Clinical Significance: The present analysis found slightly lower caries increments (14%, 13%) in children using 1000 ppm F toothpastes compared to children using 250 ppm F pastes. On the other hand, the use of 1000 ppm F pastes is associated with dental fluorosis. Considering these effects it seems justifiable to the authors to keep the use of 250 ppm F pastes for preschool children in Switzerland.

Low-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) reuqire highly pure hydrogen gas due to their extreme sensitivity to carbon monoxide (CO) contamination, which poses a challenge for using cost-effective reformed hydrogen sources. To address this issue, we have developed a surface modification strategy by applying a 0.5-0.

Detrimental effects of terminal heat stress could be mitigated by exogenous application of synthetic compounds by preserving cell membrane integrity and protecting against oxidative damage. A field experiment was conducted to test the application of seven synthetic compounds on wheat growth traits: (1) thiourea (20 mM and 40mM); (2) potassium nitrate (1% and 2%); (3) sodium nitroprusside (400 μg mL-1 and 800μg mL-1 ); (4) dithiothreitol (25 ppm and 50ppm); (5) salicylic acid (100 ppm and 200ppm); (6) thioglycolic acid (200 ppm and 500ppm); and (7) putrescine (4 mM and 6mM). These compounds were applied at the anthesis and grain-filling stages to enhance physio-biochemical traits and yield attributes of wheat (Triticum aestivum ) cvs GW-11 and GW-496 under terminal heat stress.

Extracts of medicinal seeds can be used to synthesize nanoparticles (NPs) in more environmentally friendly ways than physical or chemical ways. For the first time, aqueous extract from unexploited grape seeds was used in this study to create Se/ZnO NPS utilizing a green technique, and their antimicrobial activity, cytotoxicity, antioxidant activities, and plant bio stimulant properties of the economic Vicia faba L. plant were evaluated.

The production of medicinal plants under stressful environments offers an alternative to meet the requirements of sustainable agriculture. The action of mycorrhizal fungus; Funneliformis mosseae and zinc in stimulating growth and stress tolerance in medicinal plants is an intriguing area of research. The current study evaluated the combined use of nano-zinc and mycorrhizal fungus on the physiochemical responses of Dracocephalum moldavica under salinity stress.

Nanofluids have the capacity to reduce interfacial tension (IFT) of crude oil and water for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) operations, but traditional nanoparticles are limited in tight reservoirs due to their inappropriate size for micro-nano pores and their tendency to aggregate. In this paper, Graphene Quantum Dots (GQDs) with simple and favorable properties are developed, and their performance and mechanism for reducing IFT are evaluated. The paper also aims to explore the effects of GQD precursor type, synthesis duration, and molar percentages of precursors on reducing IFT.
