Background: The aims of this study were to promote the rational use and supervision of dextromethorphan (DM). This study analyzed serious adverse events such as addiction and mental disorders caused by DM in Shenzhen and the behavioral characteristics of people suspected of abusing DM on the Internet.
Methods: Adverse drug reaction/event (ADR/E) reports from 2017 to 2023 were extracted from the National Pharmaceutical Adverse Reaction Monitoring System database.

In 2024, Philip Morris International's (PMI) website stated they support 'independent' continuing medical education courses on harm reduction for medical and other healthcare professionals. These courses mirrored industry marketing and political strategies by presenting smokeless tobacco products and e-cigarettes as alternatives to smoking, sometimes without mentioning tobacco cessation. The enactment of the US Family Smoking and Tobacco Control Act gave the US Food and Drug Agency jurisdiction over tobacco products and included the industry's 'continuum of risk' frame, and emboldened tobacco companies to make harm reduction claims about these products, which they had previously avoided for fear of triggering restrictive regulation of cigarettes.

Background: Psychotherapy is central to the treatment of mental disorders, highlighting the importance of medical students and residents developing competencies in this area. Chinese medical residents have expressed a strong need for psychotherapy training, yet they are generally dissatisfied with the current offerings. This paper presents the protocol for an evidence-based, well-structured psychotherapy teaching program aimed at medical students and residents.

Background: Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) is a condition, where individuals report persistent decline of cognitive abilities, even though this decline is not detectable by neuropsychological screenings. Individuals with SCD are at a higher risk of suffering from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) in the future. It is important to better understand SCD to develop prevention measures, before a transition from a possible preclinical stage to MCI and AD.
