The performance of five immunoassays for detection of immunoglobulin G antibody against Helicobacter pylori in 191 dyspeptic patients was evaluated. The sensitivities, specificities, accuracies, positive predictive values, and negative predictive values ranged from 86.32 to 97.89%, 57.95 to 72.22%, 77.02 to 83.76%, 71.54 to 77.42%, and 83.33 to 96.23%, respectively. The immunoglobulin A test kit also gave a high sensitivity and negative predictive value (95.79 and 91.40%, respectively), while the specificity was relatively low (51.14%).

Background: The early detection of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) is crucial for improving patient survival rates.Early diagnosis of HCC can significantly enhance treatment outcomes and reduce disease progression. Antigen detection of tumor markers is one of the important diagnostic methods for HCC.

Background: The unregulated use of pesticides by farmers, for crop productivity results in widespread contamination of organophosphates in real environmental samples, which is a growing societal concern about their potential health effects. The conventional approaches for the monitoring these organophosphate-based pesticides which include immunoassays, electrochemical methods, immunosensors, various chromatography techniques, along with some spectroscopic methods, are either costly, sophisticated, or involves the use of different metal complexes. Therefore, there is an urgent need for sensitive, quick, and easy-to-use detection techniques for the screening of widely used organophosphate-based pesticides.

Background: The complement membrane attack complex involves C5b-mediated assembly of C6-C9 polymers to form pores in cell membranes during complement activation. Inactive complexes can become soluble C5b-9 (sC5b-9) when they bind to Protein S. Elevated sC5b-9 levels are associated with increased risk of hematopoietic stem cell transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA), a serious condition which can be improved with eculizumab therapy.

Exosomes, crucial for intercellular communication, hold potential as noninvasive liquid biopsy biomarkers especially in early breast cancer detection benefitted from the distinctive "cancer signature" on their membrane surface. Yet, the present methodologies of exosomes for breast cancer detection have involved the implementation of only a single member from the tetraspanin protein group as a biomarker. Moreso, due to the high concentration of exosomes in complex body fluids, there is a compelling need to measure a small concentration of cancer-derived exosomes with a low background noise signal.

Lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) has the advantages of simplicity and rapidness, and is widely used for the rapid detection of pesticides and other analytes. However, small molecule compounds such as pesticides are often analyzed using competitive LFIA (CLFIA), whose sensitivity often does not meet the actual needs. In this study, a noncompetitive LFIA (NLFIA) for deltamethrin (DM) with high sensitivity was developed by using anti-immunocomplex peptides (AIcPs).
