Team Child is designed to provide civil legal representation for very troubled delinquent youth to improve their access to needed education programs, mental health services, and family services. Better provision of these services is intended to reduce delinquency and potentially avoid the long-term incarceration of these youth. This article uses an incidental truncation model to evaluate two Team Child programs in Florida. The authors find the programs not to be effective in reducing recidivism among the youth but to be effective in reducing the arrest rate of the recidivating juveniles. The results indicate a reduction of 11% to 23% of arrests after treatment for the Team Child group.

In patients with disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI), overlapping non-gastrointestinal conditions such as fibromyalgia, headaches, gynaecological and urological conditions, sleep disturbances and fatigue are common, as is overlap among DGBI in different regions of the gastrointestinal tract. These overlaps strongly influence patient management and outcome. Shared pathophysiology could explain this scenario, but details are not fully understood.

Partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) are increasingly relied upon to provide intensive mental health treatment for youth with acute and severely impairing mental health symptoms, yet very few interventions have been adapted to fit this unique delivery context. Transdiagnostic treatments hold promise for addressing the complex clinical presentations and workflow needs of PHP programs, but more work is needed to understand factors that influence successful implementation. We conducted a formative implementation process evaluation to identify barriers and facilitators of acceptability, appropriateness, and feasibility of implementing an evidence-based transdiagnostic intervention in a PHP setting and further targets for intervention and implementation adaptation.
