The authors assessed the behavioral effects of dopamine (DA) receptor antagonists, Cis (Z) flupentixol and S(+)-raclopride L-tartrate, on conditioned place preference (CPP) induced by paced mating behavior. Ovariectomized female rats of the Wistar strain were used. The administration of amphetamine (1 mg/kg) induced a clear CPP that was completely blocked by the DA antagonists flupentixol (0.25 mg/kg) or raclopride (0.125 mg/kg). These doses had no effect on motor coordination. Female rats that mated in a pacing chamber developed a clear CPP. Neither flupentixol nor raclopride blocked the reward state induced by paced mating behavior. These results indicate that DA is not involved in the reward state induced by paced mating behavior in female rats.

Pulsed-field ablation (PFA) offers notable advantages in atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation by selectively targeting cardiomyocytes via an irreversible electroporation mechanism, thereby minimizing damage to surrounding tissues. Although clinical studies demonstrate that PFA is both safe and effective, PFA-mediated hemolysis and potential acute kidney injury (AKI) development have been recently reported. This study comprehensively reviews the literature on PFA-associated hemolysis, analyzing the underlying mechanisms, risk factors, and preventive management strategies.

The electrophysiological mechanisms underlying melatonin's actions and the electrophysiological consequences of superimposed therapeutic hypothermia (TH) in preventing cardiac ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury-induced arrhythmias remain largely unknown. This study aimed to unveil these issues using acute IR-injured hearts. Rabbits were divided into heart failure (HF), HF+melatonin, control, and control+melatonin groups.

Introduction: Permanent implantation of a DF-4 implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) lead in the left bundle branch area (LBBA-ICD) is the next paradigm in amalgamating cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) and defibrillation. We systematically investigated feasibility/success rate, procedural caveats, and complications associated with a permanent DF-4 LBBA ICD implant and pertinent data at short-term follow-up.
Methods: We prospectively attempted implantation of 7 Fr Durata (Abbott, Chicago, IL, USA) single coil DF-4 ICD lead at the LBBA using a fixed-curve non-deflectable CPS locator delivery sheath.

Background: Protein-truncating mutations in the titin gene are associated with increased risk of atrial fibrillation. However, little is known about the underlying pathophysiology.
Methods: We identified a heterozygous titin truncating variant (TTNtv) in a patient with unexplained early onset atrial fibrillation and normal ventricular function.

Background: The common occurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) as a cardiac arrhythmia, along with its link to sleep deprivation (SD), is gaining more acknowledgment. Even with progress in comprehending the development of AF, the molecular connections between SD and AF are still not well-defined. The objective of this research was to pinpoint the shared molecular routes responsible for SD-induced AF and investigate possible treatment targets.
