Nonemissive Iridium(III) Solvent Complex as a Self-Reporting Photosensitizer for Monitoring Phototherapeutic Efficacy in a "Signal on" Mode.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has long been receiving increasing attention for the minimally invasive treatment of cancer. The performance of PDT depends on the photophysical and biological properties of photosensitizers (PSs). The always-on fluorescence signal of conventional PSs makes it difficult to real-time monitor phototherapeutic efficacy in the PDT process.

Diversity and functional traits based indigenous rhizosphere associated phosphate solubilizing bacteria for sustainable production of rice.

Introduction: Rice, particularly Basmati rice, holds significant global importance as a staple food. The indiscriminate use of phosphate-based fertilizers during rice production has led to high residual levels of these chemicals in soil, impacting soil health and fertility. This study aimed to address this challenge by investigating the potential of phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) in improving soil fertility and boosting the growth of Basmati rice.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease affecting millions of people around the world. Conventional PD detection algorithms are generally based on first and second-generation artificial neural network (ANN) models which consume high energy and have complex architecture. Considering these limitations, a time-varying synaptic efficacy function based leaky-integrate and fire neuron model, called SEFRON is used for the detection of PD.

Conventional control charts track changes in the process by using predefined process parameters. Conversely, during online monitoring, adaptive control charts modify the process parameters. To improve the process dispersion monitoring in various operational environments, this study presents an adaptive exponentially weighted moving average (AEWMA) control chart based on support vector regression (SVR).

Bullet characterization using Photon-Counting detector CT: A phantom study with intact bullets.

Eur J Radiol

December 2024

Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Maastricht University Medical Centre+, PO Box 5800, 6202 AZ Maastricht, the Netherlands; Mental Health and Sciences (MHeNs) Research Institute, Maastricht University, PO Box 616, 6200 MD Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Objectives: Photon-counting detector CT (PCD-CT) is expected to substantially improve and expand CT-imaging applicability due to its intrinsic spectral capabilities, increased spatial resolution, reduced electronic noise, and improved image contrast. The current study aim is to evaluate PCD-CT efficacy in characterizing bullets based on their dimensions, shape, and material composition.

Materials And Methods: This is an observational phantom study examining 11 unfired, intact bullets of various common calibers, placed in ballistic gelatin.
