We report 3 female patients who rapidly developed pigmented patches in a linear arrangement. Histologically there was minimum epidermal basal cell damage and bandlike lymphocyte infiltration in the dermis, but focal massive apoptotic materials positively stained with antikeratin antibody were prominently seen in the papillary and subpapillary dermis. We considered these cases as a variant of linear lichen planus pigmentosus with unique histologic change of severe epidermal apoptosis. These histologic features may represent a severe apoptotic change in the end stage of lichenoid tissue reaction.

Given the absence of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (Her-2) in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells, the efficacy of targeted therapies is limited. In this study, we uncovered that triptolide (TP) effectively suppresses the migration and invasiveness of MDA-MB-231 cells by activating autophagic pathways. Western blotting analysis revealed that TP significantly reduced the expression levels of p62 protein, while simultaneously markedly increasing the expression levels of LC3B-II, BNIP3, BNIP3L, ATG5, and ULK1 proteins, strongly suggesting an enhancement of autophagic activity in the cells.

Ferroptosis has been characterised by disruption of the cell membrane through iron-related lipid peroxidation. However, regulation of iron homeostasis in lung cancer cells that are resistant to epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) remains unclear. Transcriptome analysis identified a significant downregulation of apoptosis-associated tyrosine kinase (AATK) mRNA expression in gefitinib-resistant PC9 (PC9-GR) cells, which were found to be more susceptible to ferroptosis inducers.

Target cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) and 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) inhibitors; 5-([2,5-Dihydroxybenzyl]amino)salicylamides (Compounds 1-11) were examined for potential anticancer activity, with a trial to assess the underlying possible mechanisms. Compounds were assessed at a single dose against 60 cancer cell lines panel and those with the highest activity were tested in the five-dose assay.
