Quantum beats in hydrogen and antihydrogen atoms in an external electric field.

Published: April 2004

An effect of quantum beats that arises due to the coherent excitation of 2s and 2p states of hydrogen and antihydrogen atoms in an external electric field is described. It is shown that the quantum beat signal contains terms linear in electric field, i.e., is of opposite sign for the hydrogen and antihydrogen atoms. The conditions for the observation of this effect are discussed.

leaves are rich sources of bioactive compounds with potential health benefits, including antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents. Pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) stands out as a promising technique for effectively extracting valuable compounds from natural sources. In this study, we aimed to optimize PLE parameters, such as temperature, extraction duration, and pressure, to maximize bioactive compound (polyphenols, flavonoids, and ascorbic acid) yield from leaves and evaluate their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities.

Important antioxidant enzymes, glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and superoxide dismutase (SOD), are involved in maintaining redox balance. They can protect each other and result in more efficiently removing excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS), protecting cells against injury, and maintaining the normal metabolism of ROS. In this study, GPx (hGPx1) and GPx (hGPx4) genes were integrated into the same open reading frame with SOD active site (SOD3-72P) genes, respectively, and several novel fusion proteins were obtained by using the UTuT6 expression system for the first time.

Pd-Sn Alloy Catalysts for Direct Synthesis of Hydrogen Peroxide from H and O in a Microchannel Reactor.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

May 2023

Guangxi Key Laboratory of Petrochemical Resource Processing and Process Intensification Technology and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Guangxi University, Nanning 530004, China.

Direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide (DSHP) from H and O offers a promising alternative to the present commercial anthraquinone method, but it still faces the challenges of low HO productivity, low stability of catalysts, and high risk of explosion. Herein, by loading in a microchannel reactor, the as-synthesized Pd-Sn alloy materials exhibit high catalytic activity for HO production, presenting a HO productivity of 3124 g kg h. The doped Sn atoms on the surface of Pd not only facilitate the release of HO but also effectively slow down the deactivation of catalysts.

A Study of Hydrogen Embrittlement of SA-372 J Class High Pressure Hydrogen Storage Seamless Cylinder (≥100 MPA).

Materials (Basel)

November 2022

Shijiazhuang Enric Gas Equipment Co., Ltd., No. 169 Yuxiang Street, Shijiazhuang 051430, China.

The spinning process will lead to changes in the micro-structure and mechanical properties of the materials in different positions of the high-pressure hydrogen storage cylinder, which will show different hydrogen embrittlement resistance in the high-pressure hydrogen environment. In order to fully study the safety of hydrogen storage in large-volume seamless steel cylinders, this chapter associates the influence of the forming process with the deterioration of a high-pressure hydrogen cylinder (≥100 MPa). The anti-hydrogen embrittlement of SA-372 grade J steel at different locations of the formed cylinders was studied experimentally in three cylinders.
