The demented patient's caregivers often feel powerless when confronted with the loss of autonomy and seek advice. The family physician's implication is an important asset to help solve the difficulties associated with the evolution of the disease. This article addresses the most frequent problems encountered and suggests ways to adapt the patient's environment to compensate for cognitive deficits and to improve safety.

Compound soil drought and heat extremes are expected to occur more frequently with global warming, causing wide-ranging socio-ecological repercussions. Vegetation modulates air temperature and soil moisture through biophysical processes, thereby influencing the occurrence of such extremes. Global vegetation cover is broadly expected to increase under climate change, but it remains unclear whether vegetation greening will alleviate or aggravate future increases in compound soil drought-heat events.

Efficient removal of Sb(III) from aqueous solution using TiO precipitated onto waste herb-residue biochar.

Increasing antimony (Sb) pollution has become a global concern, but there is still a lack of economically efficient adsorbents for its remediation. In this study, a novel remediation material was developed by precipitating TiO onto waste herb-residue biochar (named TBC). The effectiveness and adsorption mechanisms of the material for Sb(III) removal were investigated through adsorption experiments, and the enhancement pathway of traditional herb decoction on the effectiveness of modified biochar was analyzed.
