Alveolar soft-part sarcoma (ASPS) is a very rare malignant tumor, usually of the extremities, and is seen most often in adolescents and young adults. Surgical excision of the primary and pulmonary metastases has resulted in prolonged survival in some patients, but adjuvant radiation and/or chemotherapy are generally thought to be ineffective. The authors describe a 13-year-old patient with ASPS of an extremity who presented with multiple bilateral pulmonary metastases at diagnosis. Following intensive multiagent chemotherapy, pulmonary metastases showed in vivo evidence of tumor death. The patient has remained disease-free for 10 years following treatment.

Background: Nocardia are widely present in nature and considered opportunistic pathogens. They can result in hematogenous spread infection through the ruptured skin or respiratory tract when the host's immune system is compromised. Currently, 119 species of Nocardia have been identified, with 54 capable of causing infections in humans.

Purpose: The Japanese Grade Classification based on the status of pulmonary and mesenteric nodal metastases and the presence of extrapulmonary metastases had a prognostic value in patients with colorectal lung metastases previously. Because the survival of such patients has improved in the era of conversion therapy, this classification needs to be reaudited.
Methods: This study reviewed the treatment sequences of 126 colorectal cancer patients with synchronous lung metastases between 2010 and 2022 at our hospital.

Epithelioid haemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a rare vascular neoplasm characterised by proliferation of vascular endothelial and pre-endothelial cells. The prevalence is less than one in a million people. It is principally observed in the soft tissues of the extremities but can also occur in the bone, brain, liver, lung and lymph nodes.

Gestational trophoblastic neoplasms are tumors that occur during pregnancy, while non-gestational trophoblastic tumors have a similar histology but are present outside of gestation. Literature reports several cases of non-gestational trophoblastic tumors of primary pulmonary origin, which pose diagnostic challenges and are associated with a poor prognosis. This report details a case of somatic high-grade carcinoma with trophoblastic differentiation primarily manifesting in the left lung with recurrent pneumothoraces.

Purpose: Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is an extremely rare disease, typically presenting with marked elevations of serum calcium concentrations and associated with significantly increased parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels. Although it progresses slowly, approximately25% of PC patients have lung metastases. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the role of technetium-99m methoxy isobutyl isonitrile (Tc-99m-MIBI; sestamibi) SPECT/CT scintigraphy in the preoperative localization of parathyroid adenomas, incidental metastases findings of PC, and ectopic parathyroid tissue.
