Background: Accurate femoral tunnel positioning is essential for successful anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Tunnel malposition can happen due to limited arthroscopic visibility as well as anatomic variance. The use of customized patient-specific guides can optimize surgical planning and enhance accuracy.

Background: Identifying patients at high risk for failure of primary anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) on the basis of preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measurements has received considerable attention. In this study, we aimed to identify potential risk factors for primary ACLR failure from preoperative MRI measurements and to determine optimal cutoff values for clinical relevance.
Methods: Retrospective review and follow-up were conducted in this nested case-control study of patients who underwent primary single-bundle ACLR using hamstring tendon autograft at our institution from August 2016 to January 2018.

Quadriceps weakness is a primary concern following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), and neuroimaging studies have revealed higher motor inhibition and structural atrophy of the corticospinal tract. To investigate the contributions of supraspinal mechanisms underlying spinal motoneuron impairments and quadriceps weakness, this study explored the firing patterns of motor units (MUs) in the vastus medialis muscle following ACLR. Twenty individuals with primary ACLR and twenty matched controls performed a unilateral knee extension torque-control task at 50% of maximal voluntary effort.

Purpose: This study was performed to determine if at least one corticosteroid injection (CSI) within 8-weeks prior to Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACL-R) increases the incidence of postoperative infection.
Methods: A large globally federated research database (TriNetX) containing over 200 million patient records was retrospectively queried for patients undergoing ACL-R between October 1st, 2010, and January 1st, 2024 using diagnosis and procedure codes. A cohort of patients receiving CSI up to 8-weeks prior to ACL-R were compared to a cohort of patients who did not receive a CSI prior to ACL-R.
