Objective: To evaluate efficacy of the conventional technique of adenoidectomy by means of transoperative endoscopic revision of the nasopharynx and to evaluate the need for including telescopes as part of usual instruments used in adenoidectomy.
Material And Methods: Prospective, open, comparative, and transversal study. We included the first 150 patients with absolute indication for adenoidectomy. We did 150 adenoidectomy procedures by conventional technique using Beckman adenotomes, and La Force adenotomes, using a laryngeal mirror to observe condition of nasopharynx once the surgeon thought the procedure was completed, we did a revision of adenoid area with Hopkins telescopes of 0 and 30; if we founded residues of adenoids, these were eliminated with Guggenheim forceps, adenotomes, or curved 40 degrees microdebrider tip, all after endoscopic viewing, which also helped in control of area bleeding. MEASURED PARAMETERS: Presence or absence of adenoids residue location, and presence or absence of active bleeding.
Results: Total removal of adenoids was carried in 43 patients, our finding adenoid residues in 107 of cases. Of these, 45.3% were occluding pharyngeal part of Eustachian tubes.
Conclusions: Conventional technique for adenoidectomy was effective in < 30%; therefore, it is imperative to use endoscopic revision in each case.

Data have matured to support incorporation of integrative oncology modalities into comprehensive cancer care. Clinical practice guidelines have recently been published by ASCO for diet and exercise (2022) and use of cannabinoids and cannabis (2024) and jointly by ASCO and the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) for application of integrative approaches in the management of pain (2022), anxiety and depression (2023), and fatigue (2024) among adults with cancer. Following the ASCO-SIO guidelines, clinicians should recommend mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) to patients with symptoms of anxiety or depression and MBIs and exercise for management of fatigue during or after completion of cancer treatment.

Tactile interfaces are essential for enhancing human-machine interactions, yet achieving large-scale, precise distributed force sensing remains challenging due to signal coupling and inefficient data processing. Inspired by the spiral structure of and the processing principles of neuronal systems, this study presents a digital channel-enabled distributed force decoding strategy, resulting in a phygital tactile sensing system named PhyTac. This innovative system effectively prevents marker overlap and accurately identifies multipoint stimuli up to 368 regions from coupled signals.

Background: The rapid advancement of minimally invasive surgical techniques has made laparoscopy a preferred alternative because it reduces postoperative complications. However, inflating the peritoneum with CO2 causes a cranial shift of the diaphragm decreasing lung volume and impairing gas exchange. Additionally, CO2 absorption increases blood CO2 levels, further complicating mechanical ventilation when the lung function is already compromised.
