Pyrene aggregates, as classic luminescent materials, are of great interest from a scientific viewpoint owing to the development of optoelectronic materials. In this study, we designed a compound 1,4,5-triphenyl-2-(pyren-1-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole (IM-PY) which was achieved with two crystalline polymorphs (IMPY-G and IMPY-B). They exhibit the green emission and the blue emission, respectively, both with pyrene serving as the luminescent core.

Organic room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) emitters with long lifetimes, high exciton utilizations, and tunable emission properties show promising applications in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and biomedical fields. Their excited-state properties are highly related to single molecular structure, aggregation morphology, and external stimulus (such as hydrostatic pressure effect). To gain a deeper understanding and effectively regulate the key factors of luminescent efficiency and lifetime for RTP emitters, we employ the thermal vibration correlation function (TVCF) theory coupled with quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) calculations to investigate the photophysical properties of three reported RTP crystals (Bp-OEt, Xan-OEt, and Xan-OMe) with elastic/plastic deformation.

Smart fibers with tunable luminescence properties, as a new form of visual output, present the potential to revolutionize personal living habits in the future and are receiving more and more attention. However, a huge challenge of smart fibers as wearable materials is their stretching capability for seamless integration with the human body. Herein, stretchable thermochromic fluorescent fibers are prepared based on self-crystallinity phase change, using elastic polyurethane (PU) as the fiber matrix, to meet the dynamic requirements of the human body.

With the development and improvement of analysis and detection systems, low-toxicity and harmless detection systems have received much attention, especially in the field of food detection. In this paper, a low-toxicity dual-emission molecularly imprinted fluorescence sensor (CdTe QDs@SiO/N-CDs@MIPs) was successfully designed for highly selective recognition and visual detection of tetracycline (TC) in food samples. Specifically, the non-toxic blue-emission N-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) with high luminous performance acted as the response signals to contact TC via the covalent bond between amino and carboxyl groups.

This study presents the synthesis and characterization of CsNaBiCl nanocrystals (NCs) doped with varying concentrations of In to improve their luminescent properties. Utilizing a colloidal solution method, we systematically varied the In concentration to identify the optimal alloying level for enhancing the photoluminescence (PL) properties of the CsNaBiCl NCs. Structural analysis confirmed that the In-alloyed NCs maintained high crystallinity and a uniform cubic shape.
