Grain characteristic, chemical composition, and functional properties of rye were measured in 19 different cultivars grown in one location in up to 3 years. The cultivars included 8 adapted hybrids, 7 adapted population cultivars, and 4 nonadapted population cultivars. The results showed a significant influence of both harvest year and genotype on grain characteristics, chemical composition, and functional properties of the grain. Multivariate data analysis confirmed that the variations in the data were explained by yearly and genotype differences. Calculations of variance components showed that the variations in plant height, harvest yield, and protein content were mainly due to genotype differences and to a lesser extent to differences among harvest years. The kernel weight, hardness index, and content of dietary fiber components, however, were more strongly influenced by the harvest year than by the genotype. Differences in starch properties measured by falling number (FN), amylograph peak viscosity, and temperature at peak viscosity were more strongly influenced by harvest year. The water absorption was strongly influenced by genotype effects, compared to yearly differences. FN and amylograph peak temperature were positively correlated (r = 0.94). No correlation was found between the water absorption and the relative proportion of water-extractable arabinoxylan (AX) compared to the total AX content. However, the degree of ferulic acid cross-linking showed a negative correlation (r = -0.70) with the water absorption.

Objective: The impact of great saphenous vein harvest technique on infrainguinal bypass outcomes remains a matter of debate, with no robust evidence favoring a specific technique over the other. This study aims to compare the outcomes of open vein harvest with endoscopic vein harvest in patients undergoing infrainguinal bypass surgery.
Methods: Patients who underwent an infrainguinal bypass from a femoral origin using a single-segment great saphenous vein between 2011 and 2023 were identified in the Vascular Quality Initiative infrainguinal bypass module.

A 21-year-old male laborer sustained bilateral degloving injury of the hands with multiple digital amputations and devascularized digits. After X-rays, preliminary debridement was done, when digital amputations were completed, including index ray amputation on both sides. The next day, two anterolateral thigh (ALT) flaps and one second toe transfer were done to restore coverage in the palm and the web and reconstruct the lost thumb.

To assess and compare the sensory component of the saphenous nerve in Coronary artery disease (CAD) patients undergoing Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) with great saphenous vein graft pre and post-CABG. An observational longitudinal study evaluating the effect of surgery on the saphenous nerve involved 32 CAD patients undergoing CABG. This study was carried out jointly by the Department of Physiology and the Department of Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery (CTVS) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal, India from November 2022 to January 2024.

Follicular lymphoma (FL) may undergo histological transformation (HT) into a more aggressive lymphoma. Although rituximab for B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas (B-NHL) has greatly improved the overall survival (OS) of patients with transformed FL (tFL), relapse after anthracycline-based chemoimmunotherapy has a poor prognosis. CD19-targeting chimeric antigen receptor-modified T-cell (CAR-T) therapy is a promising treatment for relapsed or refractory (r/r) large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL), including tFL.

The development of zero-power moisture-harvesting technology in an unsaturated atmosphere is of great significance for coping with global freshwater scarcity. Here, inspired by Pachydactylus rangei's (Namib sand gecko) ability to evade thermal radiation and harvest moisture, a power-free cooling moisture harvester (PFCMH) is fabricated using the continuous, industrialized micro-extrusion compression molding. A Luneburg lens is introduced in the PFCMH for the first time, endowing it with a high reflectivity of ≈92.
