The Ross procedure continues to be the best procedure to address unrepairable aortic valve pathology, especially in young adults. The Achilles heel of this procedure has been aortic root dilation and the potential need for a reoperation that may be associated with slightly increased risks in addition to the need for intervention on the pulmonary outflow tract. Modifying the Ross procedure by autograft inclusion inside a Dacron graft seems to have the potential advantage of stabilizing the autograft diameter, which may be associated with improved durability and decrease the need for future intervention.

Objective: Percutaneous vegetation debulking has been reported to treat tricuspid valve infective endocarditis (TVIE), but data on feasibility compared with conventional surgical strategies are limited. We aimed to compare short-term outcomes of suction debulking with partial venovenous bypass to conventional open surgery in this population.

Methods: This was a single-center, retrospective study that included all patients with isolated TVIE who underwent suction debulking with partial venovenous bypass or tricuspid valve surgery between January 2010 and December 2022.

Background: Dextrocardia is a rare cardiac malposition where the heart's normal orientation is reversed and is most commonly associated with situs inversus totalis (SIT). Such cases are technically challenging when heart surgery is needed, especially re-do surgery.

Purpose: Here we describe a patient admitted for a stroke that was unexpectedly correlated with subclinical infective endocarditis attributable to a rarely opportunistic pathogen, Abiotrophia defectiva.

Case Report: A 75-year-old man presented with a stroke. Transesophageal echocardiography suggested vegetation on all aortic valve cusps, despite the absence of clinical or laboratory signs of infection.
