A patient with base of tongue squamous sell carcinoma, with significant CT artifact-inducing metallic alloy, non-removable dental restorations in both the mandible and maxilla was identified. Simultaneous with IMRT treatment, thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) were placed in the oral cavity. After a series of three treatments, the data from the TLDs and software calculations were analyzed. Analysis of mean in vivo TLD dosimetry reveals differentials from software predicted dose calculation that fall within acceptable dose variation limits. IMRT dose calculation software is a relatively accurate predictor of dose attenuation and augmentation due to dental alloys within the treatment volume, as measured by intra-oral thermoluminescent dosimetry. IMRT represents a safe and effective methodology to treat patients with non-removable metallic dental work who have head and neck cancer.

BACKGROUND Dental caries removal is conventionally done using carbide burs, but non-metallic polymer burs have recently been developed with the aim of being more selective and causing less pain. The objective of the study is to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of caries removal, time taken, and patient compliance during restorations using smart bur and carbide burs in pediatric patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS A clinical study was designed and conducted at the Pedodontics Outpatient Department, with a focus on 40 children between 6 and 12 years old, who were split into 2 groups consisting of 20 children each: group 1, using a carbide conventional rotary bur, and group 2, using a smart bur.

Magnesium (Mg) alloys have gained significant attention as a desirable choice of biodegradable implant for use in bone repair applications, largely owing to their unique material properties. More recently, Mg and Mg-based alloys have been used as load-bearing metallic scaffolds for bone tissue engineering applications, offering promising opportunities in the field. The mechanical properties and relative density of Mg-based alloys closely approximate those of natural human bone tissue, thereby mitigating the risk of stress-shielding effects.

Materials And Methods: Metal analogs of partially dentate maxillary and mandibular arches were mounted on twelve semi-adjustable Stratos 300 articulators, divided into three groups based on usage over time: New, short-term used (<2 years), long-term used (>2 years) articulators.
